Arya and Hound escaping
Something with the Blackfish either escaping or being captured
Some crap filler stuff with Dany
Samwell meeting Bran
News of the red wedding getting to King's Landing
And then Cat getting brought back as Lady Stoneheart

The episode garnered critical acclaim, often being referred to as the best episode of the season. IGN's Matt Fowler gave the episode a perfect 10/10, calling it "...an exquisitely awful event that managed to out-do the unpredictable and horrifying death of Ned Stark back in Season 1."[8] Writing for The A.V. Club, both David Sims and Todd VanDerWerff gave the episode an "A" grade. Simms (writing for people who have not read the novels) expressed shock at the deaths of several main characters, writing "I don’t think I’ve really processed what I just watched".[9] VanDerWerff, who reviews the episodes for people who have read the novels, wrote "If [the reader] doesn’t terribly want to deal with the thought of the deaths of Catelyn and Robb, well, he or she can read that much more quickly. Or he or she can read that much more slowly if there’s a need to process the emotions more fully. On TV, you can’t really do that."[10] Reviewing for Forbes magazine, Erik Kain called the episode "one of the best episodes of HBO’s dark drama yet", and noted "there was a deeper sense of tragedy knowing [Robb] also lost his unborn child."[11] Sean Collins of the Rolling Stone also praised the episode, and commented on the unusual step the show took in ending the central conflict of the show.[12]

I think so. From what I remember in the books the only difference was that she was really pale, her throat was slashed, and she couldn't speak because of that. She is the same as Beric pretty much, except he can speak because he never had his throat cut. The only reason they might have to cast someone else is if Michelle Fairley didn't wanna be downgraded to a guest star, because she will only be appearing in like 1 or 2 episodes a season for a couple of years.

I just found out that Michelle Fairley will be starring in the third season of Suits in a recurring capacity, I think it has already filmed but I think she'd be willing to do recurring on both, hopefully!

Even though I was anticipating it for the whole ep, I had my head in my hands for the last 5 mins. I was welling up when Bran and Rickon got separated, and then the wedding feast happened. Weirdly it wasn't Robb and Catelyn's deaths that got me, it was Talisa's. What a horrible way to go :cry:

Even so, Walder Frey had some of the best lines this episode

I really hope Michelle Fairley wants to return as Lady Stoneheart, even if it is recurring, and they should upgrade Bran to the main Stark for next season tbh, he has been too minor in this one.

And on a lighter note, The Queen getting top billing in this episode

I hope they do. Tbh even though Lady Stoneheart doesn't have a huge storyline, they could go do what they did with Theon and Olenna, give her extra scenes and just keep Michelle Fairley part of the main cast.

Cersei needs her face ripped off by a direwolf, that would be the only fitting death for her. Not some poxy poison in her wine, which will probably happen.

Is it worth continuing with this show? I'm disillusioned with this weeks episode. I was hardly getting it to begin with but now I'm close to ditching it. The show is awesome but the plotting seems clunky to say the least eg getting rid of so many of the Starks in one fail swoop. I've not read the books so please forgive my ignorance but I don't get why certain characters spend entire seasons doing nothing eg on the run, but from who exactly? but when they're culling characters so many of the more visible characters go all at the same time. Is this all leading to something ?

Well, when bigger characters like Robb go, it leaves space for other characters who haven't done much to come forward, also there's alot more characters to come as well. It's hard for me to look at the TV Series and judge it as a stand alone thing because of reading the books, I know Brans section seemed more interesting in print. I never got bored reading the book though and can't wait for the next installment
