What alarms me is the number of people who don't know what they're looking at here. "What do you mean, this looks like some sort of injury?" - - "What does someone's injured forearm have to do with gender?"

Being my usual cynical self. This type of stuff makes sense in america because the "medical professionals" earn big money from every procedure performed. It's a growth market income stream.

The problem is that people in the UK see this and think, why can't we get the same treatment here. It doesn't revolve around the same income model, but, now it's too late. Impressionable people want it at any cost to their health and mental wellbeing.

This is like... A massive Greek mythology plot point. Fair enough on all of what you're saying, tbh I only have a very basic knowledge of Greek Mythology, so I can't really argue against the accuracy of the depiction of Hephaestus in Hades II.

All I know is that the Entertainment Industry in general (not just Video Games) are trying to encourage people to find 900lbs to either be considered something beautiful or normal, and I honestly don't think that's a good message to be sending out at all.

And look, I am not some Greek God myself (pun intended) nor am I the slimmest person of all time, and I would never be horrible to someone because of their weight.

But in a lot of these cases, these companies want to sound good with these "body positivity" and "being morbidly obese is attractive" but really they're the villains of the story by trying to make people think it's okay to be not so slowly killing themselves.

I don't think there's an issue with depicting realistic bodies instead of ridiculously scuplted/bulky ones (especially because those bodies are simply unrealistic without the use of Human Growth Hormone and steroids which are being used more and more by young men in the quest for "Thor Body") - I also don't think there's any issue with "a bit chubby" (or "a bit scrawny") still being seen as attractive - different strokes for different folks - but yes I agree that it's irresponsible for media to celebrate actual obesity OR people who are clearly underweight. It doesn't need to be demonised, but things that actually affect long-term health shouldn't be seen as life choices to be celebrated.

I agree with the BIB, because personally I have liked slightly chubby or slightly scrawny women in the past, so I would be a hypocrite if I were to condemn the industry for doing the same thing.
