I think if we do get new Mods they should be chosen by Admin, no voting

Anyway, the initial point of this thread was to remind the mods that we do actually have rules and most members tend to get away with breaking every single one of them unless someone causes a fuss. I was spending a lot of time on another forum for a while and couldn't help but compare their standards to ours. They give warnings out to anybody who so much as even double-posts, but all members are respectful and polite and the whole place just has a kinder atmosphere.

Well, yeah. They are a bit *too* strict, I have to say, but it does help having rules and mods to enforce them.

I'd also like to point out, that that forum does not have a swear-filter and all members have to be at least 13, so it's not even as if age or censorship matters.

What would I do?

- I'd make the discipline at a more disciplinery standard.
- Close unacceptable threads before an argument breaks out.
- Ban members who are constantly disobeying the rules.
- I'd be fair to the nice members.
- Fix people's spelling and grammar; how much fun that'll be.
- Stop the bullying and people ganging up on each other, also the cliques.

What thread are you talking about where I 'teamed' up with others against you - I don't remember! As for the Cupid Stunt thread - he clearly was in the wrong - he usually is - don't think anyone would disagree with that! He was insulting everyone! So people aren't allowed to have similar opinions? I tend to agree with certain people often because I agree with their views not because I'm backing them up. I've often argued and disagreed with many people, also I've agreed with what you have had to say at times Surely if I was apart of some group I'd take potshots at you every chance I get? Like I said before HUGE difference between cliques and shared opinions.

As for that bold bit can you remember a certain alcoholic and Anorexia thread? You were in the wrong there but that didn't stop you saying that everyone was against you and things like that.

The 'group' defence is nothing more then a deflection used by people who are in the ropes in an argument.

Their warnings/bans are slightly different to ours anyway. Over there if you accumulate three warnings in a short period of time you get a one or two week ban. Then all your warnings are stripped, however if you break the rules again, you are perma-banned.

Sounds fair to me.

That's fair. I hate the infractions thing here, fortunately I have none. People do not learn their lesson with the banning system on here.

The way this works, you have to get like 999 points for a permaban :/

Which is pretty unlikely.

And the comment that stacey got banned for, that you were all talking about before...just so you know, it wasnt me that banned her for it. Biased as I am (

), I let that slide, I didnt see it as a rule break anyways, just a slightly catty comment :S

It is very strict. I think it's to stop spamming. They have the no double-post thing on SIN which can be annoying when trying to correct something.
