Default Makes some good points but...

Helen can sometimes make some really good points, when she argues with people she rarely doesn't have a good point but it's her delivery of it that fails her every time, her argument with Ashleigh as an example, had she taken Ashleigh to the side and they had it out between themselves then she wouldn't have came across so badly IMO.

maybe so but the fact is what she was taking Ashleigh to task for is nothing she hasn't done herself, infact she's been far nastier, except she's done it to peoples faces which then goes from bitching to bullying. I don't get the logic that it's ok to be rude and nasty as long as you're rude and nasty to peoples faces?

So if someone has a problem with you, you would rather them laugh and snigger and bitch behind your back rather than come up to your face and say it as plain as day right at you?

Never bullied at school were you?

Well, when I look at what Helen did to Christopher and Jale in the beginning calling them "slug" and "wasp" shouting boring at Christopher when he walked past, shouting at jale for being in the same room as her......yes I would choose the bitching with a friend option everyday.

No, I wasn't bullied at school, I don't see your point though. Helens way looked much more like bullying to me

Yes Helen can definetly be a bully, if a bully is a person who shouts obscenities at her enemies, but I love that about her. I want to see someone show every emotion they have, every time they are in a bad mood, or in a really good mood

I am not entertained by people sitting around in corners whispering about what they think about certain people but always smiling to their faces

Call me fickle, but I want a raucous BB not a quiet, library atmosphere full of secretive bitching!!

Well you see, when a bully approaches their victim face to face, they are putting their own neck on the line, as there is more than a good chance they are going to get (to put it nicely) shot down (not literally).

If there is a faceless entity taking it upon themselves to ruin you behind your back there is nothing you can do about it, as they are hiding in the shadows.

I was bullied at primary school, behind my back

Nobody would even speak to me for the entire time I was there, and I had no idea why

I was bullied in the first year of comprehensive

This particular bully came up to my face trying to throw his weight around trying to intimidate me...let's just say he didn't do it again.

It is for these reasons that none of what you say constitutes bullying, and is also the reason that Ashleigh is by far the worse person.

Well, I am sorry to hear that you went through that but do you not think there is more than one way to bully someone? Not everyone would be able to fight back in a face to face situation either and I think that's a pretty common way to bully a person also.

I disagree that what Ashleigh was doing is bullying, bitching about a person you don't like with your friend isn't bullying

I personally wouldn't care if people bitched about me behind my back. It's their problem, not mine.

I agree that it's not ok to be nasty either way behind backs or to someone's face but I suppose saying what you think to someone's face is more upfront and honest?

Helen was more pissed off at Ashleigh for trying to mastermind Ash's eviction and Ashleigh was very smug about it all in the DR lets be honest? when the rest of the girls were worrying about who would be facing eviction because of them.

This is what caused Helen to attack as soon as she got out of the task room, not Ashleigh bitching IMO.

Its because Helens emotions are always at the surface, unlike Kim, who has none. I thought it was admirable that Helen defended Ash in that argument and I was disappointed in Jale, that she tries to be soooo controlled about it, that we see nothing of her real feelings. Helen gets angry at someone, she lets them know straight away. Kim and Jale are just always playing to the cameras and dont want to rock the boat for fear of going home!

I didnt like Helen at first, as you may know, but she is now my favourite, because this is Big Brother, we want to see a house full of emotional wrecks, thats why we watch it!!

Can you imagine a house full of Kims???? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

But insulting someone to their face isn't being honest, it's being unnecessarily
rude and spiteful, where as having a bitch with your friend about someone you don't like is quite normal and i would guess what most people do? I don't care if someone I don't like is talking about me behind me back, I don't even like them but I would find it quite rude and possibly intimidating for them to come up and start insulting me

tbf to Ashleigh though, she was "being honest" in the Diary Room and answering leading questions by BB, this wasn't supposed to be shown to the HMs so it shouldn't have mattered

Bitching is something everyone does yes but Ashleigh was at the point that she was doing it constant and calling people nasty names every time she did it, doing nothing else at all apart from that even her Mum told her in the clip to have fun with the housemates she did like and smile a bit.

I know Ashleigh was being honest in the DR but she was still smug about it?

Which is what I think caused Helen to go mad about it, nothing to do with the bitching. And why I also think Helen had a good point but the way she went about it all made her look like the bad guy.

I know what youre saying, of course in real life we dont go around doing that to people we dont like, but most of the time, in real life, unless its someone you work with, youre not really gonna be around people you hate, are you?

can you imagine having to live in a house with several people that you actually dislike intently, Id be rowing every day lol

so I think the whole thing is designed to set people on edge, and if youre the kind of person, who is a gob****e in a row, then youre gonna do it to the max in there surely??

Think of it this way, you work at a place with 12 staff and you hate 4 of them, thats gonna really ruin your job for you isnt it? But even then, you get a few hours off, at home or out, to chill and realise that you cant let it bother you, in there, you just have to lump it

Id be arrested Niamh and hauled out by the old bill lol

I agree with Josy,Helen is spot on about people sometimes, she just needs to lower her voice and breathe and speak calmly, what makes her seem aggressive, is her shouting.

Yes she goes way over the top which was my point in the OP, she does make good points during arguments but her delivery of them lets her down every time.

Swearing is just the way some people talk, it's expression for the working classes. Where I live it is just part of the language used.

Don't generalise so much. The upper classes swear like troopers. It's a type of person who use these words, not restricted to class.

I consider myself working class. I don't have a mouth like Helen and neither does anyone of my family. Having worked for the Tories, I can assure you that swearing is not the domain only of the working classes.

Where are you attending University again? Law you're studying aren't you? If you have worked for the Tories as well, you are not working class. Are you taking the piss?

I graduated with a First in Law from Cambridge. I got to Cambridge through through sheere bloody hard work, and yes I worked for the Tories, I work for the government now. And I grew up the child of working class parents in Newham, one of the poorest boroughs in the country. Who the hell do you think you are to tell me whether I'm working class or not.
