The Goliath tribe is really trash but Natalie/Mike are my two faves from the premiere so I'm torn! The David tribe does seem far more interesting as a whole though.

But Jeff loves running to the rescue, it's one of big moments when that happens.

An underwhelming premiere, Probst very predictably milking the theme and it's clear there's a whole load of background stories which will be used to fill up episodes, pretty much like happened with about half the episodes last season.

From that premiere, I actively like Angelina, Bi, Davie, Elizabeth, Jeremy, Jessica, John, Kara, Lyrsa, Mike and Natalie, which is... what, ten more than usual for me? Let's see how they manage to completely undo their good work next week!

Not sure on the opening episode yet. It's good everyone had there moment but it still felt messy too me.

Obviously the edit wants us too root for David tribe. I think I am most disappointed with the sob stories as the one guy saying he lost his mother to drugs but the way they edited it made it seem like he was lying about it. I get they want to make him a villain but I really felt for him and no need for the evil music when he was opening up

Working my way through the premiere and if this whole season is just going to be designed to get us to hate the PRIVILEGED and ENTITLED Goliaths then I might be out. This feels like some warped Channel 5 docuseries that gets advertised during the commercials of BBUK.

I say this as someone who likes Mike a decent amount but man is there a more grim sentence than his confessional that was basically "everyone is so preoccupied with their social game out here that they're not even aware that I'm looking for the HII!"

So the premiere actually ended up being okay! Everything on the boat just oozed what is wrong with modern Survivor (a challenge on the boat was cool though ngl), but then once they got to their camps it seemed like a complete answer to all the Ghost Island criticisms! Editors probably had an easier job than usual bc it was a 90 minute episode and there was no TC, but it was still nice to actually hear about these people's lives and begin to understand what makes them tick. Let's hope this holds up?
