posting the picture doesn't necessarily mean that he is a racist. I think his motivation was to get attention by creating controversy. Even if you put racism to one side, posting a picture of a monkey is not a nice thing to do to new parents who are rightfully proud of their new offspring. He wanted attention and used the couples status to get it.

Well that’s unfortunate, the difference being is that what I said is a general term used probably on a daily basis around the world because it has a whole new meaning, using a picture of a monkey to depict a mixed race person will always be racist and everyone knows that

I'm more inclined to believe he is just an idiot rather than trying to be intentionally racist, there's no way he'd have wanted to be sacked from the BBC and lose a lot of good work but if he'd have thought about it he would've realised that's the inevitable consequence

It's pretty clear cut that it was racist and the 'I'm not racist, YOU'RE RACIST FOR THINKING IT'S RACIST' defence he's come up with is beyond stupid. He deserves to lose his job.

It's utterly gross how Meghan gets treated and it sadly doesn't surprise me to see such racism directed at their child.

He’s an absolute moron and it is racist. He’s not a naive 5 year old, he would have known the connotations before posting it.

He also said he would have posted it regardless of which royal(s) it was in reference to, yet I didn’t see such a post from him for any of Kate’s/William’s children
