They will not be allowed to release a name as he is under 18. I think a judge has to lift reporting restrictions when it involves a minor

I also don't think he's 17. They can say what they want, no one is checking on them. They can come to the UK and do what they want. And they know it.

A lot of assumptions being made in this thread. Not surprising given the magnitude and horrificness of what has happened but all assumptions until we find out exactly who he is. He will have to appear in court if charged but I imagine the hearing will be behind closed doors if he is, in fact, a minor.

If he is an adult they will release his name....they have with the guy who stabbed the soldier. If it can be released it will have to be.

I agree that the terminology needs looking at with regards to what constitutes a terror attack. Surely anything that generates terror is by definition a terror attack, particularly if there are multiple casualties as today.

The most important thing, for me though, is not his nationality or race or religion, it is the fact that 2 children have lost their lives and others are critically injured. That is where my tho7ghts are this evening, not with the scum who did it

My assumption comes from that the only accurate detail they are giving the people is that he's definitely 17.

He may be, but I have reason, from past form, not to believe that.

we don't even know if he is an immigrant. Those photo news stories above look very dodgy to me. Designed to inflame racial tension. It's a bit too obvious to pass close scrutiny.

People will have seen him, 100's of people probably. People know the area he lived in, they will know exactly who he is, so if police were pulling a fast one, it would be pointed out very quickly and I surely don't need to point out that these are young children that have been murdered and injured. The police, fire and ambulance are loyal to the devastated families above anyone else
