Aw Jake, sorry to hear that, maybe they think you are doing okay as you are juggling everything, sometimes people need a nudge, maybe give one of them a call tomorrow and try and organise some help over the weekend, its kinda harder to say no to a direct request and they did offer to help but like I say sometimes people get a bit distracted and might think you are handling it all, hope your wife has a speedy recovery and that you have a chance to get a break soon x

…I’m sure that they do care and if maybe give specific tasks/chores etc on a list of things that you need help with most and then allocate one thing to each who have offered…?…and say, as they wanted to snd offered to help, would it be ok to do that specific thing as you’re struggling a bit atm to fit everything into your days.…?….

Have you asked them directly for help? I know in my case, people always assume I have it together because we don't generally have drama in our lives.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I guess I haven't gave anyone a specific help instruction. I think I just need them to visit a bit more really, when anyone in our friends circle or family circle has had a medical problem or similar everyone seems to set up a WhatsApp on thats persons behalf to visit a lot, take meals etc, and they all said they will be visiting her all the time, but they visited her once when she came back form hospital and haven't been back since, its been 2 weeks, even people we aren't that close to have visited her once surely our closest friends and family should be wanting to visit more, especially when they said they would. But yeah I guess I haven't told them how im feeling about it. Its just when they post on Instagram for the past 2 weekends we are having "THE best time with the BEST people" it's sort of a slap in the face when im dealing with so much.

Im definitely being over dramatic and sensitive and reading too much into stuff but im just so tired and stressed. Yeah I will try reach out to them today

Tbf I think you're having an understandable reaction.

Speaking for myself, I've seen people have sensitive responses to things over far less than what you're describing.

Hopefully it all works out for you in the end.

…we’re having such a wonderful summer with weather etc and it’s so easy to get wrapped up in just enjoying that, that it’s easy to forget those close to us eho may be struggling…making a rota/timetable etc in a WhatsApp group and asking who can fill each task etc will help in focusing your care circle into what needs to be done…and a speedy recovery to your wife also…..

Awww thinking of you. Don't hold back in asking for help as you clearly have a lot on your hands. If your friends and family offered the help then ask them for it...maybe they don't want push it on you if they think you are managing.
