what about babies that have been born at 24 weeks and have survived to live a normal life, bearing in mind that you can have an abortion up until 24 weeks? are they not lives?

if you're going to say about how they can't survive on their own, what about people on life support machines? they can't survive on their own so are they not lives either?

they have a heartbeat from around 6 weeks and comparing it to the person on life support those who are in a complete coma so the machines doing everything for them they are also lives

For the first few weeks they are just parts of dna really, havent developed a brain or other organs yet.

I think once a brain and organs are developed you shouldnt be able to have an abortion because then it has a brain it can think its alive.

Abortion is wrong because you are getting rid of a life which would be loved and cherished. If people don't want babies don't have sex and use contraception instead. Or put the baby for adoption/foster care.

my best friends baby was born at exactly 27 weeks so a little outside the abortion cut off but there isnt much difference between a 24 and a 27 weeker she will be 5 in august and apart from being a little on small side and being prone to every cough and cold going you wouldnt know she was born so early i also know of a 25 weeker who is just over 1
at the early stages they may just be the size of a pin head but they have a heartbeat which makes it a living thing from 6 weeks ish which is only 2 weeks after a missed period
i still dont understand why god has been brought into this yes i am c of e but that has no influence on why i disagree with abortion at any stage

How many weeks is it before a baby is born on average?

As my mate that joined up on here, was born 4 - 5 weeks early and had a lot wrong with him at birth, he used to be shorter than everyone but hes normal height now still smaller built though.
