Because Miley, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Cascada have worldwide success and have been in the top of the charts and are VERY frequently recognised. Hell, when I'm at work I have to sell Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers lollipops!

For example, the Jonas Brothers are under-rated. Not for their success in America but in the UK - yes. And the fact not a lot of people know they write like 95% of their stuff.

Whereas an act like Girls Aloud () are under-rated in other countries because they are not popular there.

And for example a good singer may have an amazing voice but doesn't have good material. Doesn't that make them under-rated too?

Yes most of the artist's i said are not under-rated in america but they are in the uk

Your twisting a popularity alone standpoint their on being underated though. Whats not to say the whole of America could hear Girls Aloud tommorow morning, but find them utterly shit? Just because nobody has heard of you does not automaticaly entitle you to the right of being underated.
