how about a DoubleDouble eviction!?
In the semi-final 4 people were evicted one after the other. I guess they just decided to **** it and do things that they'd refrained from doing throughout the past series'.

It is what it is, all we can hope for is they pick up after the footie ends but I don't think its all down to the football. I think its mostly due to a very underwhelming launch and boring first few highlight shows that it just didn't grab people or make them want to tune in.

I feel like it might be the end of civilian BB and who can blame Viacom when they have shows like Geordie Shore that are getting over a million for every episode (season 7 anyway) and is far cheaper. Geordie Shore is still growing as BB was but its taken a battering and has plummeted.

They also have to think of the media interest on social networks and how much publicity that brings in and the Geordie shore cast have over 9 million followers .

Compare that to BB.

CBB on the other hand, will be staying for ages yet, especially Jan series.
Series 7 of Geordie shore got between 800,000 - 900,000 views an episode and that was the official not over night. BB gets between 600,000 - 800,000 views more with there officials. Launch got 2.48, nearly 2 million above the opening of Geordie shore series 7.

They would never axe the main show it would be like axing Doctor who and keeping Torchwood, Big Brother is also the name of the company and the TV program it's self and all there Twitter, YouTube, etc it also is the brand of the show

Also the price for running a CBB for 3 months or even a month would be very expansive since they run one in Winter as well, Also half of the fan base that has been keeping the show alive will leave and stop watching

Channel 5 were probably expecting the show to rate far better seeing as BB14 and CBB in January rated so well. They wouldnt promote it as the last one because they didn't think this would happen.
What channels do Viacom own?

Good point. BB is the main show, if BB goes, surely CBB would go and they certainly won't let CBB go, especially not after January. So either they both stay on Ch5 or both go to another channel, or both go altogether.

Could they air CBB on C5 and Normal BB on C4 so both channels own it is that possible

That's no true.

Including +1 every episode got over 1 million and that is very very impressive for MTV.

Their +1 figures are also on par or higher than Channel 5's at the moment.

Im not talking **** go look at the TOTAL viewers not just the official with +1. (pic at the bottom of post to prove it)

BB costs a lot of money and takes a staff, crew of god knows how many to work 24/7 that's a lot of expense so you have to look at it from a buyers point of view. Is it worth spending all that cash on something when you can get the same or more from something cheaper.

Side note: BB got 60,000 +1 viewers last night so the episode got 1.1million

I think the obsession with ratings is crazy. Ive never really been bothered about them until this year when all that people were posting about was ratings.

I dont care what they are if im honest. I prefer to enjoy the show and not worry about what happens. Im certainly not going to spend my summer complaining its getting axed....which is still unfounded speculation by the way.

GS does extremely well for MTV but to be fair in BB's defence, GS won't be anywhere near that in another 8 years time.

BB should be getting praised in future to still being usually the channels top show after 14 years and over 30 series (including BBCH, Teen BB etc...).

Yeah id say it will finish in a season or so. They may revive it every so often for specials and stuff

All that could be changed. They could totally revamp it.

Theres not just 1 contract that exists, contracts change all the time and they could specify that they want to run CBB for 3 months in the summer and scrap BB.....Who knows?

We have no idea, you cant say they would never axe Big Brother especially when its been axed once already. Big Brother is not the name of the company either its Endemol.

Cutting out Normal BB and Having 1 long CBB or 2 CBB's a year wouldn't be that much different in cost because the 3 month cost of civilian BB would no longer exist.

Lets be honest we all thought we would have heard if BB was renewed by now, it seems to me they are watching it closely and deciding wether its worth it.

I know. I was so upset about this at the time. Those 4 should have been in the final.

Who made the rule that BB and CBB had to coexist.

Why cant there be a CBB without BB?

Where have you seen this? I don't get how people come to this conclusion.

CBB is a stand alone series now, it gets far more than double the viewers and god knows how much press attention im sure Endemol would be willing to agree to just show CBB.

This is the case in India where Big Boss only has celebrity housemates.
