Yep and there's more.
Madonna promises electricity for Malawian village Madonna has promised electricity to a village in Malawi, the impoverished southern African country where she runs a charity organization and from which she has adopted two children. Speaking in Mphandula, some 30 miles from Malawi's capital, Lilongwe, the singer said Thursday: "I know you work in darkness. I will bring you electricity." Madonna's Raising Malawi charity already has donated $500,000 for a child care center in the village that feeds and educates 3,000 orphaned children. Madonna arrived in Malawi on Sunday accompanied by her four children. On Monday she broke ground for her $15-million Raising Malawi Academy for Girls. About 500,000 children in this nation of 12 million have lost a parent to AIDS. From the Associated Press.

She's such a kind woman! I love the way she cares and provides for these kids. Nobody but Madonna would do something as great as this.

William Orbit talks about Ray Of Light and Madonna
William Orbit is picking his Tracks of My Years on BBC Radio 2 this week in a pre-recorded interview played daily. Today Ray Of Light was one of the featured tracks and here are some highlights from his interview: Presenter Zoe Ball mentioned that she thought 4 million copies in the UK were sold - William said he'd heard it was 17 million worldwide! He is still friends with Madonna and keeps in contact with her by email and sees her occasionally in LA and London. Zoe asked if they would work together again. William replied that he (and of course Madonna) never look back although there are lots of tracks they worked on which are probably being saved for a rainy day! At the time Ray Of Light was being recorded, Madonna was 'friendly' with a very tall basketball player who came into the studio to hear the recording. He actually fell asleep whilst there much to Madonna's amazement! William said that he's heard that loud music can actually make you feel drowsy especially if you've been working out to keep fit like a basketball player would! Fans can listen to the interview again at www.bbc.co.uk - the episode will be available later today. Skip through to 2 hours 35 minutes when Ray Of Light is played and then William talks about the track. Only available for next 7 days.

Ethan Hawke praises Madonna for Gypsy support
Actor Ethan Hawke on Saturday praised Madonna for her boldness in speaking out against discrimination against Gypsies, words that provoked boos from thousands of fans at her concert in Romania. Hawke, visiting Romania to help promote his mother’s charity supporting education for Gypsy children, placed the pop superstar alongside Bob Marley and John Lennon as part of a tradition of artists speaking out against racism. “She transcended being a pop star,” he told reporters. “She drew international attention and shone the spotlight on a level of racism and the need for greater education,” Hawke said. At an August concert in Bucharest on her “Sticky & Sweet” tour, Madonna called for an end to widespread discrimination against Eastern Europe’s Gypsies, also known as Roma. Thousands of fans responded by booing her. “I don’t have an agenda, Madonna doesn’t have an agenda. We aren’t politicians,” Hawke said. Hawke, 38, was to speak later Saturday at the Ovidiu Rom charity Halloween ball. He and his mother, Leslie Hawke, the charity’s president, were already dressed in costume: the actor in top hat and tails and his mother in a Japanese-style kimono, black wig and geisha-like makeup. source: ap

Quote:
Lady Gaga on Madonna and SNL “I love her, she’s always been an idol of mine and she’s been so nice to me – I think I can say now that we’re friends, which feels a bit weird,” she told Grazia Australia. “I love her daughter Lourdes. She is such a lovely young girl. She came to my show with her mom and we got along famously.” In the sketch, the duo argued over who was hotter before getting into a catfight. “We were thinking, what do our fans want to see? And we thought, they want to see us fight. I was pulling her hair and we couldn’t stop laughing,” she added.

Yep it would be amazing. I know Madonna has a photoshoot the weekened and having meetings about W.E (Her new film) and thats it I think. Maybe that would be a good 2010 recorld to premote Lady Gaga's tour and to keep Madonna in the spotlight (I dont know what M is doing next year yet)

Fans wanted for Everybody magazine article
Journalist Peter Magennis would like some input from fans for a new magazine article he is putting together about Madonna and her first single Everybody: Following my July 2008 cover feature for Record Collector magazine, I’m currently working on another magazine feature article about Madonna. Inspired by the recent release of Madonna’s latest greatest hits collection, the aptly titled Celebration; the focus of the article will be the most in-depth, behind the scenes account of the making of Madonna’s very first single, Everybody ever told. The article will be told with the help of the song’s producer Mark Kamins, the recording engineer Butch Jones, studio owner Bob Blank, the musicians (including keyboardist Fred Zarr, drummer Leslie Ming and guitarist Ira Siegel) and her first ever agent, Rob Prinz, who were all there with her in the recording studio to witness her history in the making - and all of whom I have conducted original, exclusive interviews with. Of course the story wouldn’t be complete without hearing from Madonna’s fans, including the original club kids who hung out at Danceteria and witnessed her debut performance of Everybody, and the world’s very first Madonna-wannabe! If you’re a long-time fan of Madonna, who remembers when Everybody was released I’d love to hear from you. Maybe you saw her perform live at Howie Montaug’s No Entiendes, or maybe you witnessed one of her track dates at The Roxy or Paradise Garage in New York City. Did you read the review of Everybody in the Village Voice? Or maybe you just remember hearing Everybody being played on WKTU radio. Maybe you’re from the other side of the pond and saw Madonna’s UK debut at The Camden Palace. Whatever your story, I’d love to hear your recollections of Madonna’s very first single release. Please email me at Peter@TheBeatsWithin.com– I look forward to hearing from you.
