It'll take them years, I just hope that another Earthquake doesn't hit again, but they reckon there could be another in the next few weeks.

The thing is, they are prepared for earthquakes. Their buildings are pretty stable. It's the Tsunami that killed and destroyed everything. Their buildings are designed to withstand earthquakes. Yes an almighty mess is made but they stay up

I saw videos of their skyscrapers wobbling after the quake, they're really quite sturdy.

Aye, I can't believe another tsunami happened so soon after the last one. I think it'll take until around 2018 for Japan to start to resemble old Japan

Yep, if built rigid they'd crumble. They're designed to give and wobble. Same as the bridges

I remember the earthquake we had here about 3 or 4 years ago. All I felt was the house shake but I was terrified. On that scale..... I can't imagine what they must be going through

Yeah my cousin lives in Tokyo and he tells me that they do regularly do earthquake drills at his kids school and stuff & they are just generally prepared to deal with them but noone can prepare for a tsunami like this one

Aye, tsunami's are unstoppable forces, the best thing anyone can do is evacuate, there's no time to create sea defences

This has been horrible. I wan't to raise money as I'm limited on what I can donate myself. It makes us realise how helpless we are. I remember when in 2004 when I was in the begining year of secondary school I did a sponsored silence.

My god, this is not what they need, this will make any rescue mission futile.

That Japanese official is saying there is no Tsunami? But it says that the wave has been spotted?

Yes, totally conflicting. Very confusing and thats for us, how must the Japanese be feeling? He's just said "No tsunami but leave anyway"
