My brother's in the other room, clapping when they said 'Wii U.'

Another controller that looks just awful for core games.

I like the idea of being able to send the game to the controller when someone wants to watch TV.

Plenty of gimmicks but it looks like absoloute hell on the hands for long stretches of serious gaming.

On the upside you can pause the game and eat your dinner off the thing.

It actually does. I'm warming to it now. I like the idea of being able to play games on the thing if someone else watches the telly.

Innovations I'd call them Stu. you can't say that it's not impressive. I'm very impressed with the idea of being able to send games back and forth.

Depends where you draw the line between gimmicks and innovations. Evidently all the fluff about appealing to everyone like I predicted was simply placebo for the spotty editors and bloggers in the crowd. This thing hasn't a hope with core games and their developers.

Things will continue just as they did this generation.

"Hey, can I have a Wii U please?"

Nintendo must be doing it for a laugh.

I think you're just being a contrarian, I agree the idea of using it just for different views and such is gimmicky but the data transferral is something quite amazing.
