I am not saying they do now. I have utmost respect for the mods and I think they are given too much crap for what they do. But ukturtle said that that's not how they judge. He said that they look at general activity, rather than members electing popular members. I do see your point, though, but I don't think it happens on here.

Yes I know it doesn't happen, but my first reply was in relation to lostalex's post about how a popularity contest wouldn't necessarily be bad and I was saying actually it would.

I don't understand why people feel the need to complain about the mods anyway. They provide a service to the forum and don't get paid or anything. If they did not do what they do then the forum would be a rife with spammers and unfindable threads.
