There is a Great Deal of anger at the Police
who took too long to arrive,
and left the killer in a classroom
who was shooting each child one by one.

It was not blocked off.

CNN HD

Also Some Doors in the School , were meant to be locked
they were not.

It's almost quaint to see a gunman who's just disturbed, without any apparent agenda or anything...

Apparent agenda no but clear path to extremism, absolutely. "Isolated young men online making rape threats/violent revenge fantasies" is what modern extremism looks like, and is increasingly the profile of what amounts to terrorism. We had one of these in the UK just last year, near identical, although he didn't target a school.

Look at the messages he's sending and the rhetoric used. This guy has been 100% sucked into the violent, frustrated "manosphere" and radicalised by it. It's an absolutely massive problem and it's going nowhere until the world actually takes off the blinkers and realises what they're looking at. It's going to keep happening. It's not about gun laws or mental health service improvements, it's online indoctrination to a new form of extremism... full stop.

I don't think the numbers add up for that to be the main cause. I hear over 80% of these school shootings come from people who have come from broken families. That's a concerning number. The increase in school shootings has risen dramatically since the 1990s when the divorce rate really took off to what it was before then. A lack of a father figure in the home stands out in most of these cases.

It's all part of the same thing though Alf, the people you''re describing are particularly vulnerable to being taken in by these violent/extreme online groups and ideologies. Frustrated young people from broken homes, lacking in role models, easily taken under the wing of "big bro"-type figures who will validate their feelings of anger and frustration at the world and nudge them towards channeling it in more specific ways. Nihilism. Blackpilling. Male power fantasies/violence/rape/murder.

This used to be niche/mainly confined to places like Reddit but now it is absolutely ****ing everywhere. All over mainstream social media like Twitter and TikTok, really snowballing in the last few months.

But I assume the amount of people using online groups is in the millions, while the numbers of people acting out on things like School shootings is nowhere even close to near that, it's probably less than the hundreds. So that would say that most people can control themselves. The television and the rhetoric of TV personalities and politicians would be just as influential if not more influential than people chatting with each other online. I'm not saying it's not a problem in some cases but I don't think it's nowhere near the main problem.

I don't think that's massively unusual. In Scotland (since the Dunblane shooting) it became mandatory that primary schools only have one primary entrance point (with an "air lock" so anyone coming in has to be allowed in by staff) and all other doors should be inaccessible from the outside at all times.

...at my daughter's school, the fire exits were constantly propped open with chairs during summer. Anyone could have jumped the fence (only waist height) and walked right into the classrooms.

Exactly...if you want to get into a school...you can get into one with little difficulty. A locked is no deterrant.

In the USA a Locked door
would have stopped him.

"I don't think that's massively unusual."

In USA Schools all doors are meant to be Locked
They enforced that ruling,
after so many other School Killers got in.

The time for gun reform may well be long overdue - but guns are so deeply embedded in American culture that tightening up a few laws just won't work. Despite their impotent bluster, even the Dems don't really want to do it.

(Not saying nothing should be done, but it would be a long and hard road)

McCraw is getting Angry Press shouting loud back at him.
No he is crying.

He will not answer how many students died
while the slow cops got the janitor with key?

They should have Blown the Door
got in there, with their hand held Shield ,and killed the Evil Killer FAST

Then some kids would still be alive.

Police ****ed up and its a terrible thing, that will always rest heavy on their conscience now but its not easy to know how to react to something like this as its unfolding. Nothing can prepare you for that

No and with such young kids involved, it was also an unfortunate situation with the doors which would normally be locked unlocked

it's pretty grim that the police were handcuffing and pepper spraying the parents who wanted them to save their children. That police chief was obviously on the back foot when he was challenged on the facts. The first thing that should happen is that he is removed from his position

Nobody, but what's been heard so far is that he's either unemployed or he worked at Wendy's (fast food) His father is out of the picture and his mother is a junkie. It's a fair question to want to know how and where an 18 year old with that background got his weapons and ammo from and how he was able to pay for them?

But I'm not sure he'd have been able to purchase guns with somebody else's credit card. You have to do background checks and things. The granny would maybe have to had been present at the purchase.
