I agree Cherie, rioting and looting will not solve anything,innocent people are getting hurt ,the people involved have been arrested and will be dealt with, why are they still causing havoc? there are so many injustices in the world,they have made their point ,why keep it going,There wasn't this protesting when Lee Rigby was brutally murdered or when so many grooming gangs were overlooked, imo ALL lives matter,those that take a life should be dealt with, these people jumping on the bandwagon are risking other peoples lives,what is the point of that ?

Why has only one officer been arrested? Why have the police not been arrested for murdering Breonna Taylor while she slept? Why are police allowed to turn their body cams off to murder black people and escape justice?

They're still going because arresting these guys isn't enough. They need reform this has happened to many times.

Also, how is wanting to fight racism jumping on a bandwaggon?? Are you saying that people should just accept things the way they are? What do you think these people should do when their lives are being taken by the people sworn to protect them? Just accept it?

Both of the examples you outline are examples where the national press have been (rightly) outraged and both of them were condemned to the fullest of national fury. Lee Rigby's death was front-page news. The Rotherham gangs (and other such gangs) are still talked about to this day, despite the first group-prosecution happening ten years ago. The point here is that black people are so routinely discriminated against and treated as a threat, subject to police harrassment and brutality, and acts of minor aggression without any such coverage in the news. You might see stories on social media but they never get much attention, and are forgotten within a month because another such case (or 10, or 100) happen.

As ugly as the violence and riots are, change is never going to happen peacefully. It's way past that point.

since George Floyd, we've seen another case where an innocent, unarmed black man was murdered in cold blood. A man who often gave the cops free food btw. We've also seen a racist man shoot a black 222-year-old and not get charged.

I heard all of them had been arrested and one is being charged with murder,so many inconsistances in in the stories ,getting angry with people will not help ,I happen not to take on board all the stories banded about,especially the twitter stuff,what happened to that guy and others was disgusting and hopefully now things will be looked at and all racist officers brought to book, BUT its not the fault of innocent people is it? That is my opinion and calling people names will not change that.There is no excuse for wanton violence imo, I know you don't agree so you don't have to keep telling me.

This has gone a LONG way beyond George Floyd at this point. He's a symbol, but it isn't about that case. This is hundreds of years of racial tension bubbling to the surface.
