It was a very messy affair but hopefully people saw through the air of congeniality which Griffin was trying to adapt and instead have been exposed to the hateful and undemocratic underbelly of his bigoted organization - I don't really want to say political party!

I just watched it, it was a very interesting watch. I pretty much agreed with everything Bonnie had to say really.

Basically whenever someone said to Nick that you said such and such in the past, he would say I think differently now.
He was, I think as Setanta said, trying to come across as a nice guy politician. He did seem more jolly than I expected. |

Oh no I know, any party/group with a sufficient number of people voting them needs to be represented in debate like this, but the uproar is more to do with the BNP actually existing rather than taking part tonight [tonight was just a significant event to garner publicity for their indignation].

or let's put it this way. You are by everyway a racist. Want to know how I know? You relate everything to race and religion. If you hear of a crime on the news and your first thought is "what religion or race were they?" ... that's when you know your a full blown racist. .... oh and if you love any of those border protection TV shows... that's another huge clue. |

I thought that the idiot (mostly young, single) protesters at the BBC were as bad as the people they were protesting about

I thought that Griffin did ok, in terms of what he is about. I would say that was a massive plus for the BNP last night.

I agree no need for that! The best way to deal with the likes of Griffin is to expose them for the vile scum they really are.

Better people that Nick Griffin have died to ensure he has the freedom to talk bollox on telly. He did all the other parties a great service last night by showing everyone what a misinformed, unsophisticated, under-educated dick he is.

I think you're definitely in the minority. Most people I've spoken to this morning - and I work in politics at the moment - think he made himself look like an arse.

If you work in politics you'd generally be with educated people, I'd hazard a guess that the vast majority of the BNP and people who think he came across well aren't.

You have a point. Although, as for educated people being in politics... I have to say - without prejudice - since I have been working in politics I have met some of the shadiest, most underhanded and obnoxious bigots it has ever been my misfortune to meet. They're all basically in it for themselves. Politics is show business for ugly people.
