Don't think the books follow the same plot as the TV series from what i have read

I hate reading books after I've seen the TV programme/film, I can only do it the other way round

My sister said that, shes just finished reading them.

Apparently in the books elana is a vampire. You dont find out about damon til really late on, bonnie is bad...and stuff like that

I don't know everyone being too perfect can be annoying though. That's what I like about True Blood the actors are more quirky looking which gives them more character imo
