It would be nice to have a mod that was "arsed". just saying...

I would prefer to have mods that were "arsed" about getting it right.

..well personally I think this whole thread is a perfect example of why bringing back the appeal section is not the best idea.../nor having a mod 'declare themselves' as being the one who gave out an infraction/ban...which is irrelevant anyway as they're all agreed by all active staff at the time...

Yes BB is an adult program but even though we are a BB forum it isn't the sole reason the forum is used these days, there is a lot of other sections.

The sexual discussion thing, yes there are younger members on here but it isn't only them that we think about when deciding what is 'too graphic' to be posted, I'm 33 years old and far from a prude but even I am shocked at times at some of the sexual things that get posted on this site, that's not to say that any sexual discussion at all is against the forum rules but there are lines that shouldn't be crossed imho, theres also an 18+ group that could be used if you feel the need to discuss more sexually graphic things (within reason of course)

what?? how are they not winning? this thread is meaningless because nothing is gonna change, and they both still have absolute power.

this thread is really just a few people venting frustration and it means nothing in the end.

..and also I have to say, with Dezzy..?...if people are being silly in a thread, his 'threat of a ban hammer' is enough to calm the situation, so effective to his modding..which is why it's 'legendary'...not that he actually uses it...

That's normally the way of it

no matter what we say or how we try and explain things some just see us as the enemy, and some think we spend our days on the forum plotting in the admin section who we will ban next.

When in reality unless theres reports from a thread or a discussion about an infraction we are barely in there and just browse the forum and take part in discussions like everyone else does.

The thread does mean something Alex, we try to answer any questions people may have about the moderating of the forum, infractions and so on and in a way we don't win because you have members saying we never explain things, we don't discuss thing then we have other members saying, why is this thread still open etc.

You just want special treatment Alex and that's the long and short of it. You think you're above the rules and, as evidenced by this thread, you're gonna look for any reason to demonise us instead of accepting responsibility for your own actions.

..I just keep mine to myself Alex, but the reason the appeal section didn't seem to work is because inevitably, these things just become back and forth and back and forth and off topic and nothing really being achieved ...

i don't think that's fair, i don't want special treatment. I take my infractions as they come, and i'm just venting that some of them i don't agree with. but you can't say i'm going ballistic, and you can't say i don't learn from my mistakes. I truly am dumbfounded by some of my infractions though, and i think the system could be better. that's all.

I'm willing to accept that though, if i wasn't i wouldn't be coming back, I would have followed jesus right out the door.

This is a thread about infractions, so of course i'm bringing up my frustrations with that.

That doesn't mean that i don't appreciate all the hard work the mods do to keep the forum running though. If someone wants to make a thread about all the great things mods do, i'd be posting in there praising you. There's no doubt that the mods have a schedule and they are doing their best. but nobody's best is ever perfect.
