Religion itself doesn't cause wars.....some people use religion as justification for wars. To paraphrase that classic song....God doesn't kill people, people do.

That's exactly the problem here, Israel has been using Judaism as an excuse for too long and they're still getting away with it even though the real problem is trigger happy men having too much power.

Sometimes the impossible happens and that's okay, obviously we only have theories but a guess based on science makes a lot more sense to me than thinking it was all made by some kind of magical being, where did god come from in that case? All of the info we have on God is through word of mouth, there is no cold hard factual evidence that he exists. Obviously there is no cold hard evidence that the big bang theory is 100% correct either but at least it doesn't involve people having visions or hearing voices.

God does not exist
Imaginary beings invented to cope
Seeing things
Hearing voices....

I respect peoples faith.

Sorry @Jessica but I don't think you do at all.

You don’t understand how something as vast and complex as the universe could form naturally, so your conclusion is, “must be magic.”?

The Earth, Sun, and Moon aren’t in some Disney-tier “perfect alignment.” The Moon’s drifting, the Earth wobbles, and solar flares could fry us tomorrow. It’s not a cosmic ballet—it’s chaos that happens to work for now.

And those “odds” you keep banging on about? You’re only here asking the question because you’re in the universe where it worked. You’re like a fish amazed that water exists.

It was a Catholic priest who developed the big bang theory

But he kept it separate. He saw science as explaining the how, and religion dealing with the why. He never tried to mix the two. Stayed in his lane, and let the universe do its thing.

Wasn't this thread about the Israel/Iran conflict? How has Jessica managed to make it all about her opinions on God, I wonder? People with no faith are very good at telling people there is no God, it makes me smile. They have no more proof he doesn't exist than I have that he exists except I have faith and if they haven't, they just don't understand. And that's fine! I'm not going to imply they're stupid, that's their shtick. This thread was hard enough for me with all the Israel hate and support for terrorists and oppressive regimes but now, right in the middle of it, God does not exist so people with faith are being fooled. It's insulting and tiring.

You say you’re not implying others are stupid, but you’ve just framed non-believers as lacking understanding, and painted disagreement as an insult rather than a different perspective. That’s not faith—that’s fragility. No one’s mocking your beliefs, they’re just not sharing them. If your faith is so delicate that hearing other views is “tiring,” maybe it’s not as unshakable as you think.

Nobody said “something came from nothing” like it was a magic trick. The Big Bang theory doesn’t even try to explain what came before, it just maps what happened after the expansion started.

Not understanding = fine. Acting like you’ve caught some grand contradiction = not so much.

It's funny how you only see things with your own particular light on it. So here you are suggesting my faith is not unshakable while criticising me for allegedly calling non-believers stupid. Which I did not. Everyone has a right to their beliefs, or lack of them, without someone telling them they're wrong. There is nothing you could say to shake my faith, lots of people have tried to shake my people of their faith and failed. Nice try though... well, not nice, maybe just less than adequate. Actually, not even that, a really petulant and obvious try which failed.

What came before the big bang is all scientists are researching these days....most are pointing towards it proving God's existence, because something can't be made from nothing.

Iran will not hold talks with the United States while Israel continues to carry out strikes,
the country’s foreign minister said today.

In his statement, Araqchi added that any Iranian attacks were “legitimate defence”,
claiming that they did not target medical facilities, despite hitting an Israeli hospital in
Beersheba yesterday, wounding 80 people.

Israel launched a series of major airstrikes overnight targeting an Iranian nuclear testing facility and missile production sites in response to the attack.

The attack killed two Iranian nuclear scientists, the IDF stated.

It makes me laugh when you're asked questions about God and an answer is demanded when theologians and academics have been searching for answers for millennia.

Probably from the same place your critical thinking skills went—nowhere. It’s a phrase people use when they don’t know something… not a divine revelation. But cute attempt.
