It's an anxious time for many just even going for the vaccine.
Many who have stuck to the letter of the restrictions too.

To then face the scenario you've described is disgraceful and unacceptable.

The thing is, there is now a pressing target the government has set to reach by mid February.
Once you start making things about targets too, then corners get cut.
Which can compromise the right and necessary observances and care.
I think it varies where you go. When my dad went, it was ridiculously well organised. They had marshalls everywhere to ensure that social distancing was maintained, he was taken to another social distanced area at his appointment time, then to another waiting area where you have to wait 15 minutes. There were people to help at all places, markings on the floor and no breaches in social distancing or hygiene. It was very impressive to be honest

My aunt had a similar experience, and she had hers at her GP, I find it hard the believe social distancing wouldn’t be enforced in these settings

Joey I think it will be fine, if there was an major issue it would be newsworthy, sounds like just like a badly organised place Vicky, maybe a one off

Oh for sure. I feel so sorry for myself with how our GP surgery has gone through all this. Near everyone I speak to, their surgeries improved a lot. Meanwhile, despite the news saying GPs are not closed, ours bloody well is and has been for months now. Their answer to everything seems to be..if it gets worse go to A&E Which even at normal times shouldn't be what a doctor says unless you have some life threatening illness..nevermind sending people there in the midst of a pandemic ffs.

Joey I think it will be fine, if there was an major issue it would be newsworthy, sounds like just like a badly organised place Vicky, maybe a one off

Some of it has been on the news though, only have this link saved as was using it in a conversation..but there were more of these

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-55887486

So seems theres a few GPs as crappy as ours is!

I am so so jealous of anyone living in an area where their doctors will actually speak to them
Ours was always bad, but this is just utterly stupid.

well here in Netherlands the organizing part is amateurish , compared to all other big countries such as Germany, UK, US, France, Italy, Australia, South Korea

[Rishi Sunak is growing increasingly concerned
that Government scientific advisers are raising
the bar for the point at which lockdown
should be lifted, allies claimed last night.
The Chancellor is eager to ease restrictions as
soon as possible to breathe life back into a
throttled economy that has been devastated
by the pandemic.
But he is also said to be anxious that the
nation's top scientists are 'moving the goalposts'
for the criteria for loosening measures,
further delaying the recovery.]

Hmm, wouldn't have thought it was quite that high like.

Mind, I suspected there might be a significant amount of people refusing it, as a couple of weeks back on BBC news I think it was, some head medical guy was being asked about the vaccine. He was asked if takeup was high. And gave a politicians answer of something along the lines of 'people who have been shielding and away from their families are very grateful that the vaccine is available', which obviously did not answer the question..

Better for the rest of us who are desperate for a jab and yet worse as they are more likely to get it and so spread it around to others ..

Why until 15th February.
Surely they've had plenty of time to have this set up.
We've been in a new lockdown over 2 weeks already.
How have they not been able to do this by now.
For goodness sake.

I recall a few weeks ago listening to a well respected expert on pandemics state that given all they know about these things it’s imperative that all the measures should remain in place until the daily infection rate is under 100 .... 200 max for a sustained period.
