I have to agree, he is also a married man too, he will get the book thrown at him I am sure of that but the School really needs to have it thrown at them too.

As you say, as a teacher he knows there are boundaries he should not cross, he did and now he will have to face that.

I find that comment - devils advocate or not - more concerning that this story tbh.

Glad she's been found, hope when the parents get her home: that she's grounded big style.

Would really want the teacher have the book flung at him but with the cowardly judges we have in the UK passing out sentences, the father has already 'built a case' for him as far as his mental health is concerned - no doubt that ace card will get pulled and used as a defence......

Better than that....

Apart from being married, he was knocking about with a 14 year old 3 months before his first wedding anniversary in April this year.....

Quote:
What she didn’t know then, however, was that three months before her romantic anniversary, her 30-year-old husband had been seen holding hands with one of his pupils, Megan Stammers, on a flight back from Los Angeles following a school trip. Megan was just 14 at time

I am glad that Megan had been found, it is terrible what the teacher did - I hope he gets punished properly.

'Jeremy spent most of anniversary
alone on balcony': Forrest's wife became suspicious
on Thai holiday that followed LA trip with schoolgirl Megan

Yes the poor Wife had a idea about this Dirty fecker

"Jeremy Forrest's wife, Emily, posted this picture of her husband looking pensive while on holiday to Thailand and Malaysia in April. He had recently been to LA on a school trip with 15-year-old Megan who he ran away with to France"

CV: Jack Dean, who had '10 GCSEs, four A-Levels and a journalism degree from Northampton University', was a fake identity for Jeremy Forrest, the teacher who ran away with Megan Stammers

[Meet Jack Dean... The fake identity
used by teacher, 30, who ran away
with pupil Megan, 15, on the CV that finally ended
their French 'love story'
'Jack Francis Dean' was a 'Northampton University
journalism graduate'
CV said he had '10 GCSEs, four A-Levels and
worked for NME and Kerrang'
Forrest 'used CV to apply for French
job when manageress recognised him']

This is a very outlandish statement and a rather unpopular opinion, but what the hell, I really do feel quite sorry for two involved in this case.

I honestly don't think this is as 'sinister' as it is being made out, it could've been far worse and there have been much worse cases. Honestly? I just think there's a slight overreaction to the whole thing and I think this case has thrown a few of the laws regarding paedophillia and minors up for question and review. Yes, I know in the eyes of the law she's underage and he's therefore technically a paedophile, but I don't know...there's just something different about this case. If it had been a 12 year old he'd run off with I'd have a different view of things, but at 15 and six months away from being 16...just...I don't know, a bit, unfair? That's not the right word but I don't know what is.

You can't help who you fall in love with basically, and unfortunately for this man it happened to be with probably the worst person possible. But again, you can't help that. If only he'd have held off for a year and no one would've batted an eyelid (well, apart from the Daily Mail, Express, Sun etc), that's the sad thing about this I think and one which to me does beg the question...is there really that much difference between 15 and a half and 16? I know I'm more than likely going to be alone in this view and will have the usual members on my back but to me this is a very sad love story gone wrong. Not just some paedophillic sex quest.

I am of course pleased that they're both safe and well, and of course his conduct as a teacher does need some investigation, but yeah...this is a very different case to most similar to this if you ask me. And I think the French media's reaction is a lot more sensitive and reasonable than ours.

You are correct in saying there is not much difference between 15 and half and 16 - but there is between a 14 year old and a 16 year old.....she was only 14 when it was brought to light that something was going on (could have been going on longer before anyone noticed).

If he'd been a 'real man' - he would have respected her young age - (and himself) - not to mention the fact that he had a wife of less than one year - he would have shown some respect to all of that: he'd have seperated from his wife, held off till Megan was 16, he'd have moved away from teaching, and in teaching her in particular, and would have respected the laws of the land - as well as her, his her parents, his wife, himself.

Nothing more than a selfish git - but there you have it - such types exist and they don't care who they hurt, worry or cause upset to - as long as they get what they want.

If this relationship 'is meant to be'.... then it will withstand all of what is going to be in front of them in the near future.

Have to say: I doubt it.

Once Megan is over her broken heart and what (imo) is probably teenager love/crush stuff: she will come to realise what a silly young girl she has been: and move on with her life, enjoy the rest of her teenage years doing what teenagers do - before settling down with a man twice her age.

"Love" ..... or infatuation with an impressionable child?

I have no doubt that, in years to come, Megan will regard her "excursion" to France with a much older, married, man, with horror and repugnance, and her "capture" as a lucky "escape" .....

Does that sort of attitude extend to homosexuality and interracial relationships? Do the people involved have a choice in regards to who they love or is that somehow different?

Have you got a chip on your shoulder about me?

It's not my "attitude" that appears to be in question but yours - persistent stalking and aggressive baiting displays a lack of understanding about the fundamentals of discussion and debate .....

I disagree. I think he asks a very interesting question. we are constantly told gay people cant help who they are attracted to, all this poster is saying, shouldnt the same rule apply to this teacher? yes hes broken thelaw and will go to prison. but should society burn him at the stake or in fact be more liberal in our thinking? did he simply fall in love with a girl a year too soon?
