That is such a horrible rating. There wasn't even any tough competition airing last night. I wonder what drastic twist they will think up of now.

4in4out the return, coming our way...

Maybe its time C5 consider changing things in future series.

Last night's love island had 800k 16-34 year olds watching while BBUK had a total of 800k people and 200k 16-34s watching. That's the target audience for both shows, and if anything it shows that love island isn't the reason for bb losing viewers. They don't clash, so realistically it should be helping it by bringing so many extra viewers to the TV at the time...
I have no idea what's going on because the series looks quite good, but producers are going to start panicking now, and reject celebs aren't going to help.

It's currently averaging 1.02m vs last year's 1.22m at the same time

Why do Channel 5 keep repeating the same mistakes every single year and then panic when the ratings plunge? They never ever learn or listen to what the fans want. It's ridiculous we have to keep pleading with them every year re the basic principles of what makes a good series.

It usually does OK when it's on at 9 pm. I don't think people like the 10 pm slot.

LI has become culturally relevant whereas BB just isn't anymore, ALL of my friends (bar like one) are watching Love Island this year and NONE of my friends (bar like two/three) are watching BB. Everyone associates summer with Love Island and whenever I mention BB some of my friends genuinely are like 'what is the normal one still on?' (meaning civil)

Love Island will lose its popularity though, the younger demographic get bored of things really quick. This year or next year will be LI's peak before it slowly begins to decline.

I agree with this too. Love Island rates better cos it's on earlier (one of my friends actually isn't watching BB cos she said she gets too tired after LI finishes to bother putting it on)

BB finishing at eleven just feels really weird cos I feel like I need to start trying to get to sleep as soon as the ending titles come up.

The series has been decent so far, I do not get this abysmal rating tbh.

yeah BB isn't the tea anymore for the public, I would just enjoy it cus the ratings are never going to be amazing, what other TV show has had brilliant ratings every single year for seventeen years

What was the overnight average for BB16 this far in? And do officials come out on Monday?

They need some advertising but they'll probably just Evict half the cast and ask Nicola/Gemma/Marnie plus a few others if they want to become housemates.

I actually think it may be relevant for ages and do well just like Towie has which has been on for 7 years or so now and that's still doing well in ratings.

I think C5 are going to axe BB after BB19 which is sad but its had a good run. Maybe another channel will pick it up and treat ha better.

I disagree love island only airs 7 weeks a year I think it's got 3-4 years yet before the next new reality show

The 10 o'clock news is taking ratings away because of the political drama going on.
