The players have sensors in their boots, the ball has a chip in it, so they can freeze the picture at the exact point when the ball was kicked

Camera angles like that are often misleading.

The discussion on ITV after the match has left people with a false impression.

on bein sports they interviewed a german player about it, and he said that their success or failure was in their own hands from the first match and they werent good enough to progress

The shadow was on the line.

That means a bit of the ball was still on the line, meaning that it's still in play.

The goal was legit.
