[BBC Trust to be axed
thats a good thing ,due to the Corruption
out tomorrow in Parliament.
The BBC is under fire for handing out nearly £25Million
to 150 departing bosses between 2009 and 2012.

Incredibly, more than
£1.9million of that was more than
their contracts demanded.
Mr Thompson — who left the BBC last year to head
up the New York Times — sensationally accused
Lord Patten and BBC Trustee Anthony Fry
of misleading Parliament.
In written evidence to the
Public Accounts Committee,
he said: “The insinuation that they
were kept in the dark
by me or anyone else is false.”
He claimed they had been “fully briefed”
about pay-offs
of nearly £1million to ex-deputy director
general Mark Byford
and almost £400,000 to ex-marketing
head Sharon Baylay.
Lord Patten told the PAC in July that
he was “shocked” at the
pay-offs. But yesterday he said
he had “no concerns” about
Mr Thompson’s claims.
A BBC Trust spokesman branded
Mr Thompson’s evidence
as “bizarre”. Ms Adams, who quits
the BBC next year, told MPs
in July she had NOT seen a note
detailing plans for pay-offs
to Mr Byford and Ms Baylay.
Yesterday she confessed
she helped write it.
Mr Wilson said
anyone who has misled Parliament should resign
immediately or be sacked. He added:
“It’s not altogether surprising
that Mark Thompson and Chris Patten
are fighting like ferrets in a sack.” ]

They should ban Sky and all private broadcasting. Sky gouges its customers, you have only to look at how much money they make, for the same or less service. Nationalisation is always the best deal for the customer, because you remove the profit motive.

Michael Grade calls for smaller BBC

[Michael Grade has said the BBC
has become "unmanageable"
and called on licence fee money
to be used to fund Channel 4.
The former BBC chairman and
chief executive of Channel 4 told
MPs on Tuesday there should be
a radical shake-up of both broadcasters,
with a smaller BBC – including the
merger of BBC2 and BBC4 – and a publicly-funded
Channel 4, which he said was commercially "unsustainable".
"Where the BBC fails is in its management.
It has become virtually unmanageable," said Grade.
"It tries to do everything itself. It is now into property,
the post-production business, it's into everything
and has become far too big in areas it
doesn't need to be in."
Such is the scale of the role of the
director general, Grade said,
"there was no person on earth who can do the job successfully.]

Sadly he is no longer with us.

And that has nothing to do with
the Current Michael Grade Post.

I remember you saying before that he had passed away. Seemed like a really good poster, and reading his exchange with you highlights this.

What would you like to happen with the BBC Arista?

Please give me your proper opinion.

Stop taking money from the public,
they have enough to stand on.
So you would have Eastenders sponsored by
Morrisons , for example

I always believed that we shouldn't touch the BBC at all, but I'm changing that slightly. I think we should still have licence fees, but reduced, and to cover educational programming only, because we still make some of the best documentaries in the world, and we do it consistently better than everyone else. It's also for the benefit of everyone.

I agree that we shouldn't be paying for soaps and all that dross.

I think the BBC is brilliant. It has made some catastrophic mistakes but reducing it or stopping public funding would ruin it.

the whole thing needs to be ripped up root and branch....theres no opportunity, its a total closed shop, the output for the money invested is pitiful? how many world class shows in the past decade compared to hbo or many other tv networks? the news is one of the worst on tv, the endless cover ups, the infinite waste, the shocking pay offs, the total disregard for tax payers money....comedy alone has become a little elitist qungo for public school kids. i barely find any of the posh people funny. michael mcintyre? really

On the Daily Politics today
both Conservative and LibDem MP's
both said the BBC must take away its Poll Tax.

Only the Labour Woman wanted it to stay as it is.

The Funding Model of the BBC
has to change
it's Tax Fee they demand from us Public
must stay Frozen until they change it.

2020
is the date they want this Terrible Value Tax Stopped

Also many viewers should be able pay to BBC for Viewing in Europe
they want to watch the BBC and will pay the BBC ,
the stupid BBC is missing that right now.

The LibDem MP
said it wrong people are paying the tax
while some people at home watch BBC Free online
thats no way to carry on.
