the only valid number was those on ventilator and that number has dropped consistently since before omicron came along

I think things must or have to get better, we all know we have to live with this virus .But surely majority of us now IF we do catch it will just have mild flu symptoms, and then we'll recover/ it will pass..... Especially us vaccinated people.

the Prime Minister sets out his new Covid measurers reduction plan
first in Parliament, then at the Media Room in 11 Downing St.
expected to be 5PM or Later.

Labour: This is the wrong time to scrap free tests

[Stephen Doughty, a shadow foreign minister,
has been speaking to Kay Burley this morning
about Boris Johnson's upcoming
announcement on COVID.
He said this is the "wrong time" to be considering
scrapping free testing for coronavirus,
and is "the wrong time to be rolling
back the restrictions on isolation".
Mr Doughty said: "We need to look at
the science on this... there are a lot of
people up and down the country who
rely on free tests to make sure they
can go to work [and to know] that
they're not taking the risk of infecting
loved ones,
particularly those who have
immunocompromised conditions.]
