Netherlands: we now got more or less 9 million people vaccinated (combined total of first and second dose) out of a population of 17 million

health minister De Jonge said everyone (who wants to get vaccinated) to have at least one dose by September 1st, and they think of 85% of the population here since they cannot force everyone to get the vaccine

What are your thoughts on Dutch Football captain Matthijs de Ligt refusing to have a vaccine and promoting his stance online

My side effects for this second one were different to the first. First one I had shocking headaches and felt generally unwell and had a very tender arm. This time I just keep falling asleep, arm isn’t sore but was totally “dead” for about 36h, and I’ve not had a headache (very slight yesterday evening) BUT I’ve been feeling dizzy since last night. Apparently a common-ish side effect. It’s fine sat down but as soon as I stand up it feels like I’ve been spinning on the spot

yeah my side effects were different on the 2nd jab too. It took more time to kick in and then it wasnt so in your face rough, but it was still there none the less and i ended up going to bed really early the following day and slept through

I’d read that side effects with AZ were worse with the first jab then easler second one

Supposedly the opposite applied to Pfizer and I was expecting the worst when I got my second Pfizer jab but had zero effects ( weird headache right on top of my head after first one )

Since then it’s been revealed that women are experiencing far worse side effects than men for reasons unbeknown at the moment

My wife had very few side effects from either dose of Pfizer.

AZ second dose not being as bad at the first one is accurate in my experience though, I was pretty rough with the first and just a bit "meh" with the 2nd.

From my experience it seems Pfizer has less side affects, I've only had the first one but all I got was a sore arm for a few days.

That is all I had with AZ, maybe a bit more tired for a day or so as well.

My sister and husband had zero reaction to first dose of AZ, there is no hard and fast rule about these things I think

We were all being told that the 2nd jab was worse and that those who had anti bodies already from catching covid had more side effects, but i don't think it's proving to be true. The range of side effects seem very well defined, but what individuals actually experience seems to be all over the shop

yeah I think its and individual thing like my bro in law had two doses of Pfizer, no issue with the first dose, and hit by a train with the second

my Aunt, two doses of Pfizer, fine with both

so its a bit of a lottery I think

In my personal experience, I've found that the younger you are, the worse the side effects seem to be. My Dad and all his friends had nothing, my age group seem to have been hit and miss (from none to moderate effects), my friends who are under 40 have all (so far) said they were floored by it.

Default Light at the end of the tunnel - Covid [vaccine news]

As I mentioned above... the science is suggesting that , in general, females have worse side effects to the vaccines than males .

#####

Experts say the estrogen in women’s bodies produces a stronger immune system reaction to vaccinations.

MCKINSEY JORDAN/Stocksy
Researchers at the CDC say women tend to have stronger side effects to COVID-19 vaccines than men.

Experts say this isn’t unusual with vaccinations because the estrogen in women’s bodies is designed to elicit a stronger immune response.

if we go back to the first few months of the pandemic, all the data at that time showed that woman faired better fighting covid than men, it was elderly men that were the worst hit, so them having a stronger reaction to the vaccine makes sense in that context

Netherlands: Prime Minister Mark Rutte had the Janssen vaccine today

https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/0...980s-children/

Caretaker prime minister Mark Rutte has shared a photograph of his coronavirus vaccination on his Twitter account. Rutte, 54, dressed down for the occasion, wearing a casual T-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap as he received the single-shot Janssen vaccine.

He revealed during Friday’s press conference, when the government confirmed that step 3 of lifting the coronavirus restrictions will go ahead on June 5, that his appointment was booked for Monday.

‘Vaccination is the way out of this crisis and thanks to the Janssen vaccine this prospect has come a step closer for me personally,’ the prime minister wrote on Twitter.

‘With much thanks to all the staff at the GGD network (@GGDGHORNL) who dedicate themselves every day to helping the Netherlands out of this crisis.’

My brother in law had his vaccine last week we have just found out he had a stroke at the weekend and had bruising appear everywhere like he had been beaten up he is now in ICU and it's blood clots causing the bruising and it's not looking good for him! He's in his 40s. It has been confirmed it was because of the vaccine
