I just know this is going to cause WWIII when my mum reads my final draft of my dissertation, she'll be all "what has your older brother done to support you this year" but I would feel like I'm acting like he doesn't exist if I don't mention him, and it would be a bit rude if I didn't mention my family at all I think? Or maybe I should just cut all of my family out of the acknowledgments

Yesterday she put up a bitchy post online about me, so yes, she definitely would they haven't spoken in like 2-3 years now, it's ridiculous. I've settled with just saying "my family" instead of naming them individually because no one can get annoyed at that

It gets me down a lot and I don't even feel like I can talk about him or mention him around her. I sent him a birthday card last month and was genuinely scared that she'd find out
