He was born in Lebanon, but THINK (not sure) he has at least one Palestinian parent. He said before he went in he sees himself as both Palestinian and Lebanese.

It's because it was advantageous to him to get along with everyone to a degree. Now that a task has appeared that makes it even more advantageous to spill his real thoughts and basically avoid a higher risk of being nominated this week if his team wins, he's taking the opportunity with both hands. He's not very bright imo.
