tbf it's also people because i'm in a few facebook groups for the places i go to and so many are asking but i do agree about resturants and non-essential shops being the main focus espically resturants and pub.

but yeah it's no point asking about holidays tbh because you got think of airbridge and all that too like I wouldn't recommend going to places that don't have a airbridge

I feel it's the same loop constantly tbh we have lockdown people moan but then we do slowly start seeing numbers decreasing then one of the government make a stupid off the cuff comment or suggestion not thinking of the consequences, the public get false hope and the media jump on it, they (the government) give into pressure and open things or ease restrictions too soon then it all just starts over again.

Soon as I read about the holiday comment this morning I just thought oh god here we go again, yes it's good for people to have something to look forward too but not sooner than we should or it comes at a cost of messing everything up again :/

Holidays are a pipe dream for the moment, it's utter foolishness to talk about them when we aren't in a position to open up schools yet. Holidays should only be a thing when opening schools doesn't risk overwhelming the NHS, when things are in control to a point we can get some semblance of normality back without risking another lockdown.

we didn't have the new variant last summer, so we don't realistically know if that is going to make things trickier for those not yet vaccinated

Yes but reports on a Radio and TV News
is many folks are booking holidays for
later in the year, online.
Thinking it will all, better in some months.

Next is The Prime Minister
Monday 22nd of Feb
that's when he claims to have the data
to decide the Education can start again.

Next week Parliament is in Recess
starts February 13 February 2020
and then returns 24 February 2020

It's definitely too early to book anything.
I'd wait until the next review, to see if the where we are.

Sooooo .. slight tangent .. but you know all the thousands of people getting vaccinated daily ... presumably many must be already infected and are asymptotic ??

How does that effect them ??

Good , bad or indifferent ??

It would boost their antibodies that is the answer Van Tam gave when asked if people needed to be vaccinated if they already had covid and recovered

yes, also decrease their chances from landing on a ICU bed when infected after having been vaccinated

decrease their chances of dying

so this should've long been given to all elderly, was discussed in a talk show in my country too, one said sad we first vaccinated our younger care workers while elderly are risk group and we have means to protect them from the virus and increase their survival odds

a vaccine passport is not good enough though. People could still be carrying the virus and so everyone is still going to need to be tested, with or without vaccination. I can actually see insurance companies refusing travel insurance to anyone not vaccinated

I think it will be both, the testing is in place already

Yes everything is falling down massively, I think the vaccine rollout has been a real success, we may have hit a high peak but it’s going down almost as fast as it went up...

Holidays should definitely happen this summer, I’m definitely going to be celebrating whatever is said this summer

The ‘guideline’ according to one virologist is a daily new infections rate of under 100 ..

I fear the government will be under too much pressure to release the restrictions before we get down to that level.

We are nowhere close to that even in this lockdown..

Numbers will fall down even more in the next few months, thanks to the vaccine rollout.

Everyone and his uncle want restrictions to be restricted in a few weeks .. it seems to be accepted that schools will completely reopen on 8th March which is pure madness
