I watched the pilot of The Paper a couple of nights ago. And it honestly has to be the most unfunny Comedy pilot that I have ever seen in my life, holy ****! At what passes for Comedy on Peacock.

And now I have started watching Peaky Blinders, and I honestly don't know what to make of it yet.

…I liked Peaky Blinders, it’s incredibly violent …which for me is a bit distracting but it had a very unique feel in terms of accents, the likes of which have never been heard before…and hopefully, never will be again…I haven’t heard of The Paper, actually…I should look that up…

Default What TV series are you currently watching/following?

I rate Peaky Blinders alongside Game of Thrones and Sopranos , Dexter and The Wire as the best ever tv series around

I didn’t find Peaky unduly violent .. no worse than any other gangster type series … certainly not as bad as all those slasher/ horror movies than so many seem to love

…I started to watch a mini series called Ripple/8 episodes in all…I’ve watched 6 episodes atm so I’ll finish it today…I’m not sure about it, it’s depressing and slow moving but I’m invested enough in the characters to watch through until the end …

…it’s not the most riveting of series and quite doen in many ways because it’s about a city full of strangers but how their lives can touch and have a rippling effect on others and actually mould futures …it’s kind of a bit of a Hallmark card quote in a mini-series form, though…like a very extended Hallmark movie…but I am quite Tate he’d to the characters, I have to say and I also love that no one has been brutally murdered and that there is no violence…

I'll give Peaky Blinders another look some other time, I'm probably just not in the mood for something like that currently.

…I think that can definitely be the way as well in feeling that we haven’t really attached to a series/characters etc…sometimes it can be just the wrong timing to watch something, you know…?…I know that I’ve had a second look at series at times and viewed with completely different eyes…

Same here in the past.

One that I can think of right away was Angel, I hated it the first time around, I couldn't even get past the first few episodes.

Second time around I did the whole thing and loved it for the most part.

We did this with It’s Her Fault !

Both watched the first 40 minutes of the first episode and didn’t bother with it for a few days .. then something drew me back and completely hooked me in - soon to watch episode 7 out of 8
My wife is on about episode 3

It can be fascinating how a person's mood can change towards something.

Yeah

I think we were probably both tired initially ..

One of the characters was driving me mad as she was so familiar and yet I couldn’t place her .. eventually I resorted to checking ImDB and discovered that she was , of course , one of the main characters in the five Twilight movies !!!
