That means the virus is receding, the stronger the line the more virus in your body

Am I right in thinking that the only people who now get Covid are the vaccinated?

Thing is Alf you're not that old and (I assume) in good health. My daughter is unvaxxed also but she's 12 so she basically had a very mild headache for half a day and then a week of complaining that she couldn't see her pals. Can also officially say at this point (5+ days since she tested negative) that neither me nor my wife caught it from her, despite living with her and not really making her isolate in her room at all ... we just carried on as normal. And she also accidentally spat in my wife's mouth whilst positive. That was a whole thing. The whole story is, they were stood close together face to face and my daughter burst out laughing about something, sending spittle directly into my wife's face. Still no Covid )

My dad on the other hand, is 67 and not in the best health, he had it in February and was very unwell (developed mild pneumonia). He got over it but he's still looking extremely thin, a bit worrying really. Also, when his sister had it (pre-vax back in 2020 - and yes I know that was an "old variant") she legitimately nearly died, was in ICU for 3+ weeks and still isn't right, 18 months later.

On the other hand, my wife's grandma who is nearly 90, very frail, deaf and almost blind has had it something like 3 times and only been mildly ill each time.

There's an element of pot luck it seems.

My brother also has it now and he's feeling worse than I am and he's fully vaxed and boostered. He also keeps himself fit by going to the gym regularly and eats healthier than I do. I'm a heavy smoker who eats crappy food and besides a walk every now and then I do no exercise.

Very interesting and informative !

It was the sheer randomness and the fear of the unknown that was the worst for me for the first two years of Covid

Now symptoms are milder , PLUS we are triple vaxed PLUS we’ve both had it just recently ( Jan 2022) I don’t give it a second thought .

We just have to hope that a crazy new nastier variant doesn’t appear .

I've tested positive.

I felt at deaths door yesterday and still not too good today but better than yesterday. I decided to do a test and the two red lines came up within a minute.

I was pretty sure it was Covid, that's why I did a test. My symptoms was a pounding headache and cold shivers but no bunged up nose.

I think I'm over the worst.

I am a little baffled by people still testing when all isolation rules have gone out of the window tbh, especially now we have to pay for tests. Even though isolation only went out of the window because Boris wanted covid to go away due to his own rulebreaking

Hope you feel better soon alf. And anyone else ill. With or without covid.

Well Boris might not give a damn ,but some people still want to make sure they're COVID free ... Especially if they're working with vulnerable people or socialising alot.

Yes we're now told to "live with COVID" , and restrictions are lifted but this pandemic is still a pain in the neck. Even though we know we have to just get on with things.

Also some people are still trying to isolate ,for atleast a few days if they've tested positive.

I took the test and I'm actually positive now , been coughing and everything. If I was UNvaccinated I think my symptoms would have been ALOT WORSE.

EDIT .. And it's ridiculous how the tests cost money now, so yeah less and less people will do them as they won't want to pay.
