Default Big Brother poll: 2000 to 2009 - Which one was the best and why?

Now that BB10 is shortly coming to a close, take a look back over the last decade and decide, which BB show really did it for you. Was it the first one, when the producers were just finding their feet, only for Nasty Nick to go and throw a spanner in the works, or does that series seem stale and boring now, when you compare it with BB5 for example, when Michelle and Stuart built a makeshift lovenest so they could satisfy their carnal cravings? Which one was the best? You decide. And don't forget to say why.

For me. Big Brother 6 had just about everything going for it. It was good, wicked, evil, sexy, extremely funny, scary, entertaining..etc (I could go on for hours). It had the most beautiful and under-rated women in it, and some of the tasks were great. Something so simple as the cardboard box task turned out to be TV gold.

A great year.

BB7 and BB8
I've only seen from BB7, and for me those were the best two series, the housemates were good and I liked the tasks etc.

My favourite series overall has to be BB9. I liked nearly everyone in the house, the tasks were genius, the design of the house/eye was amazing and so on. And when it reached the final 3, it was the first time ever I would've been happy to see any of them win.

Loved it

BB7 - The housemates were a great selection and the twists were actual twists

I can't choose between BB5 and BB6

Both those series gave me lots of laugh out loud moments, drama, fun, bitchiness, great tasks.... the whole package imo.

I may have to give BB5 the edge though, because I didn't want Anthony to win and Nadia is one of my favorite HM's of all time!

It was between BB3 & BB6 for me and it came down to who had the best housemates. BB3 had a couple but BB6 had Derek, Science, Makosi & Psychotic Craig. Who are four of my favourite ever housemates.

BB6 wins.

5, 6, 7. Voted 6 because Makosi made it AMAZING.. The cast was great, had Phenomenal characters! & Best house too! Amazing tasks e.g. Box Task & The Dog Task! Amazing twists which involved more amazing housemates!

BB5 was sublime so I have to put it first... near perfect in fact. BB6 a close second for the brilliant tasks and outlandish characters.

BB9 a distant third and I'd probably put it joint second with BB6 if it hadn't been for the Nicole farce. Some of the storylines were fantastic.

My least favourite was BB3. I hardly liked any of the housemates from that series apart from Alison and Kate.

Ooh, this is getting interesting. It seems everyone has forgotten about Big Brother 1 and 2. And BB7 in the lead? Fair enough, it would have been my second choice because of Nicki Grahame alone. But what happened the following year. BB8 was a disaster.

BB5, utterly incredible TV, fantastic series with a wonderful end.

It absolutely kills this series (for example), in hindsight and fair comparison.

Ahmed, Jason, Victor, Nadia, Dan ... all awesome HMs!

And Ahmed ... OMG ... he was put in specifically for me!

BB1 was definately the best in my opinion. A group of random people, no idea what to expect, not the ego's or the agrressiveness there's been in the recent years. The number of people who turned on to view the whole Nick drama....The closest BB has come to matching it was the celebrity one with vanessa feltz.

Yes amazing series, what a contrast to BB4 too! BB10 could have been too, but the entertaining and contrasting HMs got evicted! Only Marcus left now.

I think the producers purposely put controversial characters into BB5 because of the horrendous boring mess they had made of BB4. Since then, they seemed to have gone by a certain formula. Do you notice that before BB4 there were more good looking blokes in (apart from BB2)? Now they only put one really good looking bloke in with more good looking women. The proportion of LBGs (Lesbians, Bi-sexuals and Gays) is higher nowadays now, as well.

Big Brother 5 was absolutely amazing and perfectly done. It blew me away every day, the tasks and the twists were immense and the housemates were actually legends and unpredictable.
What happened in here is unforgettable, now that was pure drama and entertainment.
To me, the end was phenomenal, Jason and Nadia were the best final 2 EVER but I wish Michelle and Victor made it to the finale.
