Default Sky News.. Big Brother. Good News

Many have Said BB "Is dead" didn't they, others on here said"Nobody wants it"
Sky News Tonight broadcast the demise of BB, and Endemol confirmed on the broadcast that they are in talks with several company's that want to continue.

The fact that news of a program ending can run on a major News Network is proof enough of its pulling power.

BB aint dead, Channel 4 is, i reckon.
Why kill off the most successful program on there.(weird)

"This means that next year's series of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother will be the last on Channel 4"

"and after that, well, Big Brother will get back to you, you can count on it."

Yes, it is gone from Channel 4, but im sure thats not the end of Big brother...
Its doesnt say its dead altogether!

Correct, and I suggest you watch Sky News at 12 and watch the report, just to confirm.

Lets hope. I love BB and think it will be a case of don't realise how much you miss it until it is gone. As far as I am concerned it is still the first and best reality TV show by a long shot.

X Factor etc might be bringing in the viewers at the moment but lets see where it is in 10 years time. After seeing the new cheesy format the other night and cringing with embarassment at how corny and set up it was i doubt whether the mass viewers will last long.

I am convinced that with the live feed and media interest this year BB still could have been pulling in 3 million + viewers. the interest is definitely still there for a channel that could treat it with a bit more respect than Channel 4.

I would be good on e4, cause thats where its home has been since bb2. If e4 do it themselves with out the gutless CHannel4 suits interferring it could be a return to the good old days!

I think it may skip a year, maybe 2011, and then return? They do need to look at what makes this show successful - listen to the fans, do proper polls. We need to kind of go back to the format from around the time of Dermot, Russell, (you forget how much was put into those shows, the housemates friends and family visiting through the week etc), the daytime streaming...

The least pc channel should get it.
Big brother needs to be shown walts and all and show racism and homophobic footage rather then wrap everything up in cotton wool.
THis is a reality program not happy families

Channel 4 have just made **** of BB, it could of been great this year but the bastards axed the LF, and just ruined everything BB had goen for it..

BB9 was better because thats when C4 cared about the show, I dont know what ****en happened to make them decide to make a ****ing piss out of BB10, but look where its got them.

I hope to **** BB moves to a bigger channel, not only because most of us on here want it to stay on, but just because if BB12 becomes so big on this new Channel,
Channel 4 will be so annoyed and jelaous of whoever makes the money from BB12

Aha so there's still another series left? I think I'm in the minority that feel BB should end. Rather go out on a high than slope off quietly with a whimper. The show has come a long way since Ann the ex nun talked with that boring brummie (not Lisa), about their shared passion for courgettes.

Who'd have thought ten years on we'd be kept enthralled by a very hairy man and a Brillo pad!

Yes they are. People don't seem to be understanding that though.
They are owned by the same company but individual stations like BBc1 and BBc2. I do get that they are owned ny the same company but they will have individual budgets and directors. I am not stupid just hopeful!

The problem with this years show is that the production team have been bereft of ideas and have got lazy, at least they got lucky this year with many of the entertaining characters sticking around for a while!

It will always be on tv as long as there are profits from advertising and phone polls to be made.

A change of network will probably be the kick up the arse the producers need.

At the end of the day C4 has been hammered by media commentators for forgetting it's original remit. To help support the arts and produce original and thought provoking content nurturing new talent (unfortunately this does not include desperate wannabies making d*cks of themselves in hope of a "Hello" deal). As the high end execs at C4 are sensitive to being accused of being labelled "low brow" C4 were looking for an excuse to drop the show as soon as they could. Look forward to C4 moving more towards the direction as BBC4 (which is more like the original C4 output anyway).

Within the media elite, BB is not seen as worthy, so best for both parties for them to part ways.

It wasn't ratings that did for BB on C4, it was the snobbery of the london media elite!!!

i would still watch it if it moved to another channel.

the problem is, what channel would be willing to tie up so much airtime on one show?? i don't think sky1 would do it, unless they used sky2/3 for LF/BBLB/BBBM

this year's bb have really let things go to ****. it's not the hm fault, they're fine. they haven't put any effort into anything (tasks/discipline etc)

it needs to have a break for a year or so and get new people in with new ideas. it could be brilliant again!!

Still at least there is hope, i feel it is good others are interested.
I Reckon Murdoch will snap it up and put it on Sky, he also owns The Sun,News of the world etc, which sell a lot based on BB.
