Can someone explain why excacally Singers Mime?

I take it as a Slap in the face to the Viewers,
Westlife sung life, but the Finalist sure didnt!

They always LipSync, So why?

Is it because they dance and cant sing?
Thats a **** excuse, its a SINGING Competion!

Is it because their worried of messing up?
Thats their own fault, if there not good enough they should Do one.

So whats the reason?

Its been bugging me a while now..

I think it is ridiculous that the contestants are allowed to mime for the group song. They should not be allowed to under any circumstances.

I think it's because the group song is frivolous really, the contestants focus all week on their saturday songs which are the ones that really matter. I think the group song is always least rehearsed since it'll never affect the votes in any way. It's just to fill up time. For that reason I couldn't give a ***** if they mimed or not. In the long run miming the group song won't change a thing.

What really matters is that they don't mime when they sing their proper songs because those are the ones that matter.

It is pretty stupid, but as long as they don't mime You Are Not Alone like they did with Hero last year then I'll be happy.

I reckon it's because they didn't mime the first week and were dreadful. It became very apparent after that, that a lot of their voices didn't mesh well. Still think its a disgrace tho.

It really annoys me when they mime, its not the contestants fault though... if they are told to mime they will mime, this is their one shot at being a star they are not going to get in a debate over it.
Blame the producers =/
