Default Medal of Honour relaunched...in Modern day Afganistan

EA has revealed the latest game in the Medal Of Honor franchise.
Titled Medal Of Honor, it will take place in modern-day Afghanistan and focus on a team of highly-trained US soldiers during the conflict.

"[It] will introduce the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no-one else can handle," said a press release.

"The development team has been working closely with Tier 1 Operators from the US Special Operations Community since the earliest stages of development to create the most authentic modern war experience."

The single-player campaign will be handled by EA LA, developer of the PS2-era Medal Of Honor titles, Boom Blox and Command & Conquer 3.

Multiplayer will be developed by DICE, creator of the Battlefield series.
The title will be released on 360, PS3 and PC in 2010.

I'm glad they are finally putting the WWII era to rest, that era of FPS is just so...overdone

I think MoH will be truer to Modern Warfare than Modern Warfare itself

How very Call of Duty. I only ever played Frontlines and thought it was a bit boring, the D-day levels were good but it just trailed after that.

They could have done a different war though to make it look less like they're copying COD.

Modern Warfare covers a fictional Iraqi war, Modern Warfare 2 covers World War III

From what I head MoH covers the real war in Afganistan...so its not really the same war

Yeah but the only reason it's got commisioned is so that EA can have a piece of MW's pie. Since it's in the same time frame it's always gonna be seen as a copy, what they should have done was work their way up like start with a Vietnam game or something and then do a modern game as it would have carved it's own path then.

You cant expect EA to sit back and let Activision reap the rewards...and for once, EA is the better company here, since the wanker in charge of Activision enjoys squeezing money out of us

They are both corporate monsters at the end of the day, mate.

No, but there was a time when EA attempted to buy up virtually every other publisher and small time game studio there was to pump out there mostly-the-same franchise installments year after year after year. There was a time when EA bullied developers into rushing games out early to the Christmas market so people would plop down cash for unfinished games.

I could go on. Both companies want your money. It's they're job...

Rockband, probably the worst video game EVER, besides Guitar Hero.

EA? All the sports titles?

TBH, the thing that really bugs me about EA is they are obsessed with building a brand image because they think we care about the publisher when buying a game. Those special EA cases, the EA logos you can't skip [the mark of a true prick of a publisher] ughh, can't stand it!

I remember all the EA cases used to have the same, black text on white background spines to try and build some brand identity. As if we care! We buy games based on critical reception, word of mouth and obsessive YouTube monitoring. Not because we point at a case in GameStop and go ''Ohh, lookey! EA!''.

Yeah, I agree xD they have been quite original lately with some brands (Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Mercs 2) Mirror's Edge wasnt....to my tastes, but still it was a nice try at a new genre, they let themselves down with NFS and endless sports games

I will always remember EA as "the ones that do The Sims". That's it.
