This is probley the most stupidest question to ask is it?
But im curious. My mate gave me 'Fake Money' the idiot, it was actually the Newer Pounds. Was wondering why it was so shiney and the Tails on the back were like all better. This got me thinking what waste of work that was updating the money because soon when the Queen Dies surely that means they cant use her face on the pound? 1. It would be stupid if England gets A King next. 2. It would be direspectful to the dead would it not? Like still using her face if she died. So would they update the money when she dies to the new King/Queen or would they just leave it on?

The King is put on the coin and the Queen coins are either melted down or collected

Making new physical money (aka coins...) will increase the inflation rate (The percentage increase in the price of goods and services, usually annually.) which means everything will be more expensive and not affordable anymore. It may also lead to the unemployment rate will explode and the government will have to raise taxes to finally declare its bankrupt time. (ie. Argentina)
It's all economics, don't try to understand, it's like 1 + 1 = 2.

Therefore, I think the day the Queen dies, the government will take it slowly and collect the money carefully to replace it. And not just throw it like that.

as they go through the Bank of england they are taken out of the system and replaced with new ones, just like old torn notes or the old Ł20 so inflation isnt a problem

Yes Charles's Throne may be short.
But my opinion, it might be better as he is not popular with public. Even I hear many people would not accept Charles as the King. I think ILoveDC's view is not a joke I am afraid. Last edited by sooty; 14-02-2010 at 02:52 PM. |
