Default Nintendo: "We don't enjoy mature titles"

Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime has admitted that the firm does not enjoy developing mature games.

In an interview with MTV, the executive claimed that the studio could produce titles like BioShock for the Wii, but prefers to stick to family friendly fare.

"Nintendo don't create that type of content. We're not experts at it. Our developers don't particularly enjoy making that content," he said.

"They probably could make stellar content, if they chose to. We choose to do something else. So it really is up to the third party developer to create that great content and bring it to life on the platform."

Fils-Aime went on to express his disappointment at the low sales figures for mature titles such as GTA: Chinatown Wars on the DS and The Conduit on the Wii.

Meh, I love Nintendo for it's lesser-mature gaming.

****ing gimps at Nintendo tbh.

My brother loves all their games like hes a massive fan and it gets so annoying the way he loves it and would buy any product they **** out their arse.

They are money grabbing bitches, releasing the DSi XL or whatever its called, like WTF?

They are just milking the DS Now.

Even the Wii has alot of bugs, the remotes are a nightmare even with a battery charger machine thing.

The only game from Nintendo on the Wii I really enjoy is Mario Kart, and thats just so I can fight with the Chineese, Americans, Polish, English etc all online LOL

Alot of fun.

And didnt they release Bully on the Wii, thats a mature title.

That was a great game, I would die for a sequal of it.
Although Canis Canem Edit, was far better on the PS2 for some reason.. it was easier.

I thought since Rockstar Games created Bully, then Nintendo were going to go down the road of allowing GTA Games on the Wii and DS too.

Thank god they didnt release IV on The Wii it would of been a total fail.

I do often wish the DS Had Grand Theft Auto, it would be so nice to play on the bus and in school.. I love just coming home and sticking TBOGT on lol

But then again, if they did release a proper GTA Title on the DS, It would probley be birds eye few and would contain subtitles and pictures... sooo GTA Advanced.

At least we will never have to put up with Nintendo's fresh mature content like Mario Fighting, Zelda Knife School, Mario Beatdown, Metroid Hoedown, or Mario Bloodsport.

As long as they keep up the quality of the Nintendo first party games they can say what they like. Mario and Zelda games don't need blood and guns to be good.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Doing fairly well with their own type of games.

They have some **** like 'Mario smash brothers' or somthing, and my brother kept asking me and my mate to play it on multi player, because apperantly he thinks its like real fighting and people would like it.

Its ****, its like a Nintendo all star series with all the little gimps like Mario,Zelda,Sonic etc all coming to drop kick eachother of a flying saucer.

People do like it, it's one of Nintendo's best selling and best reviewed franchises....Once again Patrick remember that your opinion doesn't equal everyone else's.

It's an overrated button smasher that's incredibly simmilar to it's Gamecube edition, but it does fan service by putting in all the Nintendo characters and whatnot.

Yeah thats probley why it would be considered popular then right?
If they have all the characters from the games all the little nintendo fans love, then they would buy it just to see the 'All Stars'

It's a fun game quite simply, and it would have been as fun with or without Nintendo characters.

There are enough 3rd party developers developing more mature content for the Wii and DS, Nintendo dont really need to bother, they can concentrate on making money by developing what they do best, bringing on family type games. As for milking the DS, of course they will and why not, their job is to make money for their stockholders.

Incidentally GTA Chinatown Wars is available for the DS Patrick.
