Default Comic Movie Adaptations.

With a huuuuge number of comic-book heroes being thrown at the big screen now (there are productions of Thor and the Avengers in the pipeline, as well as countless others I'm sure), which are your favourites?

And don't be silly and say Catwoman.

I'll always love the first Superman movie. Christopher Reeve in the lead, Gene Hackman, a great rousing score by Williams, and don't forget how Donner created such a contrast between the comic book world of Metropolis and the quaint, all American, nostalgic upbringing of his youth. Oh, and then the opening with Brando on Krypton. It's just a great three piece story.

Didn't know V for Vendetta was a comic

loved that film had to spend about 2 months studying it for my individual assignment in media (which doesnt bode well that I didn't know its origins)

And I loved Darkman, even though it's not an original comic book - Sam Raimi wrote it - but it still has that comic feel and tone to it. It's really over-the-top and fast moving.

I'd say X-men but the third film tainted the series really I'll go for Batman. I've still haven't managed to watch Kick Ass yet.

Good poll.

I love all the Spiderman films - especially 3 and the Dark Knight is ace.

Besides Batman (I thought The Dark Knight was far-fetched nonsense, Batman Returns FTW), I hate all the other comic superhero movies. They're just cheesy.

Ghost World is my favourite comic adaptation.

Edit - Oh and 300.

Out of the movies I've seen...

Good.Great - Superman II, Batman Returns, Hellboy, A History of Violence

Okay - Batman (1989), Daredevil, Spider-Man, Blade II, Superman Returns, the Crow, Ghost World

Meh - Superman, Batman Begins, the Dark Knight, Blade, Spawn

Lame - Spider-Man 2, X-Men 1 and 2, Supergirl (good for the lulz though), the Hulk

Awful - Spider-Man 3, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, X-Men 3, Sin City, Fantastic Four 1 and 2, the Crow: City of Angels, V for Vendetta, Men in Black, 300

Not my favourite genre

We usually agree on everything but Supergirl above Sin City?

Ah, A History of Violence. I knew there was one I was forgetting. But can't say I agre with you on some of your decisions. Daredevil ok and Dark Knight meh? You should watch the second Hellboy film. Classy stuff.

Yeah, it looked pretty sweet from the trailer. Got to love everyone's favourite Tom Waits lookalike Ron Perlman.

I was watching Bram Stoker's Dracula the other day and I went, "jaysus, what age is fecking Perlman at this stage?!". They're the spit of each other.

Yeah, but Hellboy 2 really allowed the director to introduce his own visual flair to proceedings since he was a little more restricted during the first one, seeing as he had to adhere more to the original comic book design. He just goes all out in the second installment.
