Ok so I was just wondering. What is it about the BB logo that excites. Nver before have I seen a piece of art so iconic that is spawns thousands of interpretations, and so much excitment.

I know it's hard for some fm members to understand but the unveiling of the eye each year is for me one of the most exciting bits of the BB experience. I love to see which direction the graphics will take etc. Afterall it's something we have to live with for a whole year.

What are your opinions.

Well first of all I agree with you and its nice to see another person that is intrested in the eye this year.


I think the reason I love it so much is because well as you said the graphics, I mean the graphics show us alot about the series such as the Opening Titles, The Graphics in General, The Advert Campainge, and sometimes the house.. infact most of the time the house.

It usually tells us a theme, well thats what we want to belive.

Some times the eye tells us a story about the theme other times its random, but either way I love the hype and the amount of BB fans that get excited and talking about the series.

Once the eye is out you know BB is back for the next few months.



Plus especially with this eye, I mean its being built up by alot of people at C4 to be the best eye ever, that we wont be dissapointed, AND that Daniel Eatock and more artist are working on it.

It sounds like an amazing work of art.

well hello lol, i wouldnt say i start jumping around the room when i see the eye/adverts etc, but i do get a bit like "oooohhhh the launch is getting closer!" and when the voice over comes on and says 7 days well i do give my hands a rub and think ooh this time next week its back to E4 live feed 11pm etc!

i think its because the eye is the 1st thing that offically marks that big brother is back! when everyone gets that feeling in their stomach that bb is just around the corner, after seeing the eye.

I think it's the whole package, really. Big Brother has had some of the most cutting edge, coolest graphical work since it first came on screen. Every parody of it you see even copys the whole techy sci fi feel of the thing [See : Extras].

Well as a graphics designer, i am always fasinated at what the eye will look like, the design a colour too. Also as its such an iconic thing it is used through the whole series and sums it up for me (advert, opening, even the votting bit at the botton 8D)

Its amazing to think that Big Brother is the only show that when the logo is revealed and adverts are aired for it this excitement is caused. Its hard to explain why this is.
For me the eye causes so much excitement because its the first thing we see about the upcoming series, we can speculate on the house, on the theme, on the graphics, on the whole series from this one image. The logo is iconic to a show that seems very special and still very different to this day.

I Think Its The Official Start To The Big Brother Madness. Once You See The Eye You Can Kinda Get And Idea Of What The Theme Will Be. The Eye Is Iconic It Represents BB, If You See In An Advert You Know Its Big Brother. And This Years Eyes Means More Than Any Other Eye, B/C Its The Last BB UK Eye Ever. So You Want It To Kick***!

yes exactly, the eye = what big brothe started off as,people being watched 24/7. althoough now i just love the look of it and what it may or may not represent

I dont know tbh, i cant really explain it, it just feels right when the eye is released like the hype really starts i suppose. It also give you an image in your head, kind of like giving a face to a name

Hi everyone! Jake here. Been a guest on here for like 2 years so thought seen as though it is the last year might aswell join so hi. Ok im really excited about bb11 it looks to be a very mysterious series already, and I had a conspiracy theory that these funeral pics are just to throw us off track as to what is really going on. I dont think they are an advert for the main programme I think they are an advert for a spin off on e4 or something showing the best moments of big brother. Anyway I maybe wrong. I do however think the eye will be made up of flowers look at the advert really clearly. Especially still, it looks like its going into the shape of the eye and the yellow flower is the pupil. . . But yeah the eye is always exciting to see as is seeing the house for the first time etc generally the pre hype about it is the most exciting part!

i love the eye its like the start of summer when i see it its the start of the hype and those eye flashs :O well wow :L hope bb does really well this year sick of redaing how the viewing has gone down every year

For me it's not only that it marks the beginning of the new series of BB, it also represents how the show grows.

BB1 had just a photograph of some eyes, which is very basic. BB2 came back with a logo that was still quite bland, but as the years have gone on the eye has evolved graphically. I remember when I first saw the BB9 eye and I was really shocked at the change. It was the same template all the time, but with a different pattern inside, then BB8 chose a bulky colourful eye, but BB9 seemed to be very cleverly thought out. On the build-up to BB10 I was worried they wouldn't be able to think of something to top it, and then out came the futuristic hi-tech eye.

For me, the anticipation of seeing the BB11 eye is not only to try and figure out how the house will be designed and the theme of the series, but also because it needs to be the best one yet.

For me its because I grew up with it really. Started out watching Big Brother in High School sitting my Standard Grades, and used it as escapism from Exam studies etc.... and just kept going from there.

It got me through Standard Grades and Highers at School, got me through my Degree... and it gets me through work.

When I see the eye, i get the comforting feeling that Ill have something to look forward to
