is 30 to old for chart music
over 30 you can not act street, because you are heading for the o.a.p stage, now that's sweet. no gangster rap or jungle can enter your ears, susan boil, frank sinatra, loui armstrong now bring your tears. your hip street look is now starting to fade, you don't shop at camden lock, because all clothes are M&S made. to the pub for a quickie, but you sit instead of stand, the lady's are now a challenge to chat to and a no go is a one night land. on comes the music and with it you can not relate, its time to accept music you can not date. for those that refuse to accept, old age will highlight, because once you are over 30, chart music and any person dose not look right. i was watching this great morning chat show when this debate came on and i am pleased all the pannel were thinking along the same lines as the joe lol its so embarassing seeing a old person trying to be young. dose anyone feel the joe is being a bit harsh on this one and we should all try and be a bit more hip and young and it might even make us relate and get on better as a community ? love to hear your views. |

I wouldn't say they should try and act 'hip and young', that's taking it too far, but in my opinion, anyone can enjoy whatever music they want. Stereotypically, I'd be into chart music being 17, but, for the most part, I can't stand it. Ftr, Frank Sinatra is one of my favourite people to listen to, but does that mean I shouldn't because it's too 'old' for me?

It is embarrassing when seeing mutton dressed as lamb (boys and girls) but 30s are hardly past it Joe!
Most people as they get a bit older no longer WANT to do the things you mention - their tastes change (for the better) and they stop acting like idiots! Sounds good to me! |

I am 15 and I am not really into chart music. I listen to music by Madonna and Kylie Minogue and they are not really en vogue to chart music. Plus I can repect artists that were post my generation.
I still like a few chart artists but not like everyone in the charts.

I listen to the chart for recreational purposes, really. And I only usually listen to the Chart Update, not the main show.
But I would never pass off the majority of chart music as masterpieces that have been created by artists with great talent, as that's not the case. And I pity people that believe that it is the case. |

there comes a time when perhaps you can see thorough 95% of chart music and see the industry behind it, the suits, the shareholders and it all becomes very unappetising.
The rather annoying Lilly Allen's The Fear is a good example of chart music that appeals to everyone because it is clever, new and has a point. |
