I agree with her parents totally BB has ruined her life. The problem is she came out expecting to be a top celebrity and it never happend, i expect she cant even go out now without something being said.

I don't think that her parents have any case whatsoever. I'm sure that most, if not all of the hm's hope for a future as "a top celebrity" after they've left the house. But it simply isn't realistic to believe that they aren't equally aware that realising their ambitions is incredibly unlikely. After six series of BB, it has produced a handful of minor celebrities. The vast majority were seldom seen or heard of again.
Whilst it can't be used to justify anything that may or may not have happened to her subsequently, the sleazy plastic outfits she wore when entering and leaving the house ensured that she was never going to have any credibility. Similarly, her constant bullying did her no favours, either. If her parents had focused on her apparent low self-esteem, which was obvious both in her exhibitionism and intense envy of others, then it would be a little different. Those character traits should've been identified by the psychologists before she was chosen as a hm, and perhaps it would've been wiser for them to reject her at that juncture. But there have been bullies and exhibitionists in the BB house since the start, so Lesley's inclusion for BB6 wasn't any real surprise. The exhibitionism was a part of her character before she entered the house, as her Face Party account showed. It's also very likely that it wasn't the first time she's been guilty of bullying others, either. Her parents surely can't have been surprised to have seen her behaving in that manner on tv, or that it made her unpopular once she left the house - and neither can Lesley herself. If Jade Goody was capable of turning her life around and reinventing herself for the better, then so was Lesley. Instead, she wanted acceptance and reward in spite of her failings. Whilst it's never nice to hear of anyone suffering, in this particular instance there's little to suggest she's in any way worthy of sympathy. |

Good point. I hadn't even looked at it from that angle. She's banging on about being mistreated and wanted to be accepted, but has she earned it? No, she has not.

Cheers, James.
Having read the article, it seems that Lesley has fallen victim to the cult of celebrity. Nobody can blame BB for that - it's a media creation, after all. Nor can anybody really blame the girl from taking what was offered, but more fool her for thinking that it was going to last forever. |

I truly feel for Lesley is this rape allegation is true. However, I think it's unfair to say that BB ruined her life. Even though this years contestants on the whole, were the most publicity hungry we have seen yet, they must surely have had the sense to realise that the chances of getting long term fame from the show are low? And Lesley behaved appallingly in the house, so she only has herself to blame for peoples perception of her.

I don't believe Lesley got raped or that BB ruined her life.

If I read one more story about an ex-housemate telling a tabloid how Big Brother ruined their life I will have the screaming ab-dabs.
So has anybody been charged with raping Lesley? |

So I take it nobody's been charged then. What does that say about Lesley's claim she got raped?
And how much did Lesley get paid for the story? |
