Same, there's bound to be loads of sites doing imports.

IA Patrick, it does seem harsh on the UK.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 has become the fastest-selling DVD and Blu-ray of all time on Amazon.co.uk, it has been announced.

The December 2 release of the final film in the Harry Potter series was announced yesterday, with the DVD and a new eight-film collection box set being made available for pre-order.

Amazon has confirmed that the David Yates-directed finale achieved the most pre-orders for any DVD and Blu-ray product on the first day of pre-order release. The figures were four times higher than those recorded for Deathly Hallows: Part 1 during the first 24 hours.

"The final instalment of the Harry Potter films was always going to be an immensely popular title with many fans keen to complete their collection, but the demand was incredible with pre-orders overtaking those for Part 1 in just five hours," John Boumphrey, director of DVD and Music at Amazon, said.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is shaping up to be a huge title and with more than two months to go until release it is set to challenge Mamma Mia! as the most pre-ordered DVD and Blu-ray of all time."

Various bonus features on the upcoming release include 'A Conversation with JK Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe', 'Maximum Movie Mode', an exclusive behind-the-scenes look in 'When Harry Left Hogwarts' and various deleted scenes.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is released on November 11 in the US, and in the UK on December 2.
Amazing Already pre-ordered my copy from HMV because Amazon never get here on release date. Considering ordering an import from this site which sells the American DVDs when they go on release over there as well, even though I dread to imagine the shipping costs.

dvdworldusa.com selling an American import of the combo pack for Ł19 which should arrive on November 11th, in case anyone doesn't want to wait over 2 weeks for it.

I finished rereading the final book last week, and although the battle was amazing, it could have been soo much better

There were so many unnecessary changes imo

Yep, the film battle was good but the battle in the book is so much better and more detailed. The little details are what make it amazing like Trelawaney throwing the crystal balls down at the Death Eaters from the banister, McGonagall and Snape fighting with the suit of armour in the corridor and everyone entering the Room of Requirement through the Hogs Head passage, which didn't make the film. They should have included the house elves, Grawp and Buckbeak too, like in the book.

Yep, Trelawny, the house elves, buckbeak and the centaurs were the things I was thinking about most, oh, and moving Harry and Voldemorts final battle outside when noone was watching, but yeah, even the suits of armor, I think it'd have been pretty cool to show empty corridors and then all the suits of armor (rather than just the stone ones) and the stuffed animals etc jumping down from where they were and marching towards the grounds

Mcgonagall rounding up the tables too ughh, there was so much they missed

The final duel should have definitely taken place in the Great Hall, that was a big letdown for me. Then we could have seen the other duels too, like McGonagall, Slughorn and Kinglsey duelling Voldemort and Hermione, Luna and Ginny with Bellatrix. We should have seen more empty corridors I agree, I think we only saw an empty corridor once when Harry was running to the Room of Requirement. Oh and when the side of the castle gets destroyed resulting in Fred's death should have been in there too, that part is so descriptive in the book. Percy's redemption is not shown either. Too little Hagrid as well, it's a disgrace he had like 30 seconds airtime in the film. I really wanted to see the scene in the Ravenclaw common room with McGonagall, the Carrows, Luna and Harry, they filmed that but it was cut from the film.

It could have been better but to be fair I think they did a pretty good job of it, I knew they wouldn't be able to cover everything.

Well a rumoured deleted scenes list leaked and it wasn't on there so I don't think it will be sadly.

Well there are rumours that WB may release extended versions of all eight films in the forseeable future so I'm hoping it will be on that. Also worth noting that on December 29th all previous Potter films will go into the vault and you won't be able to buy them anymore.

More info:

Quote:
As kids we heard those threatening words at the end of commercials for the latest and greatest Disney movie hitting VHS or DVD. It created a sense of urgency and, in Disney words, helped them control the market.

Today we’re learning that WB is going to set up a Harry Potter vault, and I think it’s a very bad idea.

According to the studio, production of Potter DVDs will cease on December 29th. That’s four days after Christmas and less than two months after Deathly Hallows – Part 2 goes on sale. What this means is that several weeks later, availability of new copies will become small and you’ll have to resort to eBay and other online retailers who are selling used, old copies.

Warner Brothers is making a big mistake. They’re forgetting that aspects of the franchise like Pottermore, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Studio Tour, and sheer word-of-mouth will keep new generations looking for copies of the films every day.
Then there will come a time when they “reopen the vault” and publish the DVDs with new covers and probably new features. That’s when longterm Potter fans will be upset because they’ll know they’re missing out on special features.

While I understand WB’s desire to hype up re-releases, I think it’s cruel to rob potential new fans of availability for the sake of promoting new editions of the films that they’ll probably call “deluxe,” “crystal,” “diamond,” or any other exciting-sounding adjective.
Let’s keep the great films on shelves where they belong and pump up advertising campaigns when new editions are ready.

Amazon declares Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 as the most pre-ordered Blu-ray and DVD ever. The fans of the Harry Potter series are so eager to get a copy of the final installment that the amount of pre-orders from the site skyrocketed. The official Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 release date is set for November 11, 2011, but the pre-order figures is already four times higher than what Part 1 reached.

This last installment of the eight-part wizardry series is one of the ten movies ever to have grossed over $1 billion at the box office around the globe. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 is now in the same category as top grossing films like Titanic, The Dark Knight, and Avatar.
Not surprised one bit but this is great to hear.

Well they had DH Part 1 clips in the original airing but it did feel pretty lacklustre without any from Part 2.

You do realise which company own the rights to the movies and funded the budget for them? Warner Brothers (ie. American industry).

Target will be featuring an exclusive 4-disc set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows - Part 2 compared to the previously announced triple-play Blu-ray/DVD sets offered by Warner Brothers and Amazon. The fourth disc in the set from Target will feature an exclusive 48-minute documentary, which you can see in this post.
Love how America are getting all these exclusives when the films were made in Britain, the cast is British, the author is British etc.
