For me it's not so much he stood up against the tree of temptation - its that he genuinely believes he needs to explain some things to the tree and then sincerely engages it with some manners to be sorted out.

A few don't fully appreciate the greatness that is Ben. They say "Oh what about Marcy last year argued with them",
or,
"and Rex did that the season before",
but,
They don't understand those are no comparison. Ben is on a whole level beyond this.
Ben is genuinely miffed at a piece of furniture and sincerely feels he needs to settle some ground rules with the furniture.
Its brilliant.
