Robin van Persie admits he didn't think he'd ever score an Arsenal hat-trick
Dutchman praises team-mates' efforts during scoring run France legend Zinedine Zidane believes Arsenal’s Samir Nasri is the future of the French National side as he described the 23-year old as the “greatest hope” for the future of his country. Manchester United have made a late bid to hijack Alex Chamberlain’s £10m move to Arsenal, according to The Sun. A source inside the club said: “The boss (Sir Alex Ferguson) has made his move and now it’s down to the lad and his family to decide – but United are a massive club to turn down.” The Arsenal goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, has warned Ipswich Town they can park the bus, or as many tractors as they want, in front of their goal at Emirates Stadium tonight, but Arsenal will break through the barrier and reach the Carling Cup final. Ipswich defend a 1-0 lead from the first leg at Portman Road after a below-par Arsenal were beaten by Tamas Priskin's second-half goal. The Championship club's defender Damien Delaney has said "we will go and park the bus in front of the goal at the Emirates". Szczesny said: "We have a team from the Championship coming to the Emirates and they probably won't fancy it too much, but we fancy our chances and are confident we will go through. We are Arsenal and believe we can beat anybody. They have a one-goal advantage which they will try to defend, but as soon as we score the first goal it will be downhill for them. We just have to break them down and score as many goals as we can. We are confident we can turn this around." Reported Arsenal target Siaka Tiene has his sights set on a move to the Premier League. According to talkSPORT, the versatile Paris Saint-Germain defender is ready to seal a switch to England, and has his heart set on one club in particular. "Nothing is going to prevent me playing in the Premier League. I dream about playing in England. "I have always seen Arsene Wenger's teams play and it excites me." Whether the 28-year-old Ivorian's "come and get me" plea will be heeded by the Arsenal boss remains to be seen, but he is known to be in the market for defensive reinforcements.

Liverpool hoping Ajax striker Luis Suárez pushes for a move as Ryan Babel departs for Hoffenheim
Liverpool’s hopes of signing Uruguay international Luis Suárez depend on the player following Charlie Adam’s lead and agitating for a move. If they actually get him, i think liverpool will be a lot more dominant..

All the paper talk about Suarez is a load of crap, it will be like the Babel deal.. nothing at all will be known because that's how things are being run here now.. Frustrating for the fans but in the end it's worth it.
I think we will get him though, it's all gone on too long, if we weren't willing to meet their valuation we'd have pulled out ages ago. |

Oh, and we wouldn't have let Babel go if we aren't sure of a replacement either, and Suarez plays in the same position.

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has agreed to sign for Valencia on loan, according to TalkSport who have cited reports in Spain.
Those reports claim that Valencia officials were in London last week to try and finalise the deal and it now looks as though it is all but completed. The Mexican international is currently Arsene Wenger's fifth-choice striker behind Robin Van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner, Theo Walcott and Marouane Chamakh and he has started only three Premier League games in three seasons at Arsenal. Wenger has openly stated that he wants Vela to go on loan but only to a club that will play him whenever possible. Wenger also revealed that he received numerous enquiries from Premier League clubs for the striker, but it seems La Liga club Valencia have won the race to sign him. Vela endured loan spells in Spain earlier in his career, at Osasuna and Celta Vigo, and is set to sign a six-month loan deal at the Mestalla. Vela has made 34 appearances for Mexico scoring nine goals and was part of the South American team's World Cup squad in South Africa last year. He started both group games before missing the final one through injury. He was an unused substitute in Mexico's defeat to Argentina at the last-16 stage. Going from my favrourite English club too.. my joint top spanish club

Rangers eye Pompey's Hreidarsson as Arsenal weigh up move for Bougherra
Bougherra would walk into the Arsenal team, he is worth at least 10 Mil as well even Xavi said he would be good enough to play for Barcelona Hreidarsson would be a decent replacement but he's getting on a bit now, him on Weir at the back would have a combined age of 75

Andy Gray sacked by Sky Sports, his own fault and I couldn't stand him but women do have a role to play in football, some go to matches and it's a shame some men still hold prehistoric views that it's a mans game.

I'm glad Andy Gray has been sacked. What he said was morally wrong and it was an utter disgrace. Keys will be gone tomorrow. Wonder who they'll replace them with, I assume Ben Shepard will be the main anchor but I wonder who will be the new co-comm.

Not sure if Keys will have the balls to resign - he knows where his bread is buttered on a large contract too. Afterwards they are both virtually unemployable without media going after them again.
