If I'm honest I think BB9 was only a middling series, it's only because it was sandwiched between BB8 and 10 that it seems better then it actually was. It doesn't deserve to be as lowly ranked as it was but I don't think it was one of the best either.

True that! BB's 8 and 10 were abominations and their only lasting effect has been to make BB9 shine brighter in the minds of fans. I mean, compare BB9 directly to BB's 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. It's nowhere even close.
