He's gone into rehab to mitigate his sentence for crashing into a shop stoned.

No, it will be like Butlins for him (Pun intended).
But nah he shouldnt, and he doesnt need to go to rehab either. Points on his license would do, legalise herb.

Remind me of that part of the law that states cannabis users should go to jail. Seriously.
As for rehab, don't they have more urgent matters (heroin addicts, crack users, etc) to attend to?

Sorry, just been doing a bit of googling as I didn't play much attention to this story.
If he was driving under the influence, then yeah, he should have been jailed or at least been given a hefty fine.

He's to be sentenced on the 18th next. It's not the first time he's been stoned at the wheel and caught. His going into rehab is a ploy to get off lightly.

Stoned at the wheel of his car is as bad as being drunk. What if he had killed or maimed someone - should he just get fined for that too?

It's a ludicrously lenient sentence considering what the consequences could have been. Instead of whinging about it, he should consider himself lucky to have got off so lightly, and that all he crashed into was a shop window.
