Yar Kung Fu on the Spectrum was an ace game, and Mortal Kombat when it first came out on the amiga, the fuss it caused because it had blood and slightly gruesome imagery, seems laughable now.

Technically Beat Em Ups and fighting games are different beasts . My favourite beat 'em up is without a doubt Streets of Rage but my favourite fighting game is a toss up between Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter & Tekken. I do love Soul Calibur & DOA too though.
