Question Should I Convert My Big Brother 9 DVD?

I got my Big Brother DVD just like a few others on here, I got BB9 and the disc doesn't play on DVD Players or Xbox 360.

I don't think it's just me because DJ the person that sent the DVDs did say they only played on the computer.

That's cool, I'd rather them play on the PC than not at all but I was just wondering like should I use a converter to convert them from 'Mixed Media Files' to WMV or something and so they'll play on the DVD player?

Like should I go ahead with it or not? I'm afraid of messing it all up, or would it decrease the quality or something?

Or should I use a specific program to convert?

Help please

I'd leave it as it is unless you know exactly what you're doing since if you get something wrong in the process you'd have wasted Deejay's time and money in sending it to you. From what I've played of mine it looks better on the computer anyway, since it looks a little bitch stretched on the TV.

It's a simple enough process the converter programme I use.

But yeah I may just leave it, I have them all backed up incase anything were to ever happen to the DVDs because I like literally have them protected as if they are the crown jewels lol

Might ask DeeJay when he comes on about them or if there's a way to convert.

Oh does it look stretched?

Btw, what series did you get Dezzy?

I got BB7 & BB2.

It might have been my Telly but it didn't look that great on it which I don't mind as I was gonna use my computers to watch them anyway.

AVC (any video converter) is the best free converter. If you want them to play on dvd then convert them to dvd(mpeg) format. I usually convert files to mpeg II as they play on my cheap dvd player in their raw form. Just copy them straight to a dvd disc. Or cd even.

WMV dont play on dvd players usually. AVI files play on some.

And I wouldnt play files on a large TV screen unless they are really great quality as theyll look crappy. Small screens suit them better.

The TV I used was only a small telly in the Dining Room and the image wasn't great so I don't know if the size of the TV really matters.

Of course it matters. Its all about the pixels...the bigger theyre stretched the less defined the images will be. Plus converting files can make them smaller in size and diminish the quality.

Plus it depends on the quality of your TV, of course. PC screens are often HD quality.

Once files have been burnt to disk you won't even be able to change the name of the file nevermind converting them. The only way you could is to rip them to the pc then convert & reburn to a new disk but most files are in AVI format which plays on PS3/some dvd players anyway. If you want them as regular dvd disks they would take up 4x as many disks.

Oh thanks Deejay, I'll try and play it on other DVD players and see if I can find on they work on if not I'll stick to the computer.

Why don't you just get one of those VGA cables and those sound wires so the sound and video comes from the TV instead of the laptop? There only cheap, I always use them to watch TV shows on the actual TV instead of the laptop.
